I'm betting the hold out was the 3rd year. Bo wanted it, ticats capitulated.
Now, if money wasn't the biggest issue as Bo says, I wonder if he signed for a number that allows Dane to stay and give us a hell of a tandem.
If not, ticats are in great position right now in terms of the market as they'll dictate the next major moves with a Dane trade.

The Tiger-Cats originally acquired Mitchell’s exclusive negotiating rights from Calgary in November and as a result of him signing with Hamilton, the previously agreed upon trade with Calgary is now:
To Hamilton:
- AME – QB – Bo Levi Mitchell
- Calgary’s first-round pick in 2023 (fifth overall)
- Third-round pick in 2024
To Calgary:
- Hamilton’s first-round pick in 2023 (fourth overall)
- Third-round pick in 2023
- Sixth-round pick in 2023
- Second-round pick in 2024
*Note Hamilton’s fifth-round pick in 2024 is no longer included in the trade.

My original guess over a month ago was 3 years 1.5 million. That is only 50K a year more than we were going to have to pay Dane. Awesome news. Let's hope all our Free Agent Dominoes start to fall into place now

A great deal. Cap friendly. It let's us go after more big names, re-sign our key guys and draft a few promising players.
You have to think the Cats did a thorough assessment of Bo's physical condition before committing to three years.

If it's true the cats are ignoring the cap this year...why not? A slightly renogiated contract for Dane maybe. Or they keep him at his number, it's 1 more year, and time to go all in.

I predict Dane is traded to Sask with his current deal in place.
Dark horse prediction...Dane is traded to Ottawa with a restructured contract for 200K a year plus incentives. You know Burke would have signed him a year ago if Masoli wasn't available.
