The 5th quarter post game radio show

He said in his first show that he would like to have phone calls but he doesn’t have that capabilty yet,
It was his sons that set this up for him and they are trying to figure out the best way to have phone in.
I know I will fully support him and tune in whenever possible!
We are fortunate to have him

Wasn’t there a couple of emails offering to help him set up the phone in service?

All i remember from his 1st show was that they were working on it
Note
If he is looking for sponsors ($$$$)
He would probably need some way to monitor the call ins for inappropriate callers

The charm of the 5th quarter was all types of people called in…censorship is not the answer…then we would mostly get the apologists … who can be more frustrating to listen to watching the losing ways of the team.

What I mean’t by monitor is
To have some kind of delay to beep out inappropriate language, etc., etc., etc. that sponsors wouldn’t want to be associated with

I think being off CRTC regulated airwaves reduces the concern regarding inappropriate caller’s.

I think they have a delay and mute button to address it though.

Rick does a great job on the 5th Quarter. I’ll be tuning into the YouTube Channel.

Subscribe to his channel and he might at least make a little coin for doing this.
Great guy to do this! I’m gonna try to listen in my car using car play.

The article says that he has about 500 subscribers, I’ve subscribed and I hope that more TigerCat fans do the same.

Logistically it may make more sense if he turned this into a call in show off a game night. I know it’s not ideal but maybe if he tried a call in show the day after a game or the Monday following the weekend more people would be at home and able to watch/listen/call. Still lots of people to cut/fire on the following Monday.

fans that watched the game will call in after the game, even fans that drive home from the game will use their phones and watch or listen to youtube. In addition to after the game he could possibly do a Monday show, but I think that you’d get more callers after the game than a couple of days after the game.

He said he was trying to have calls for Labor Day
He had to go through Google to get the logistics set up
I hope it works out a door closes but you open a window

Rick is adding two more shows on youtube, one is the day after a TigerCats game and another I believe Tuesday or Thursday. It’s great that he’s keeping it going even after 900 CHML closed.

Yes makes sense, times have changed I would say that the Youtube audience is bigger than an AM radio audience.

I think that you’re right, I guess I was in the minority who continues to listen to the radio. It’s great that Rick is keeping this going, I hope that everyone likes and subscribes to his shows.

Rick is a great man and a true pro. I didn’t care for his work doing PxP years ago, but have always been a huge fan of his on 'ML and The 5th Quarter. He deserved better, but I’m so glad he has carried on with the YouTube version. TiCats radio may try to bring him into the fold, but I would hate to see that, as I like Rick’s arms length affiliation with his unbias comments.
