Thanks, Rocky.

The Double Blue were in deep trouble when Bish went down with his wrist injury last year. Whether it was a lack of preparedness, or overconfidence, Mike McMahon let us down. Damon Allen was equal parts old and injured, and we had no one left to turn to.

Rocky Butler came into the organization unfamiliar with the plays and players, but still gave us a fighting chance in a couple of games during the losing skid. He did the best anyone could have expected of him.

Sorry to see you go, Rocky. Thanks for the help last year, and best of luck in the rest of your career!

I can't agree with you more dmont. Butler is just too good to be relegated to #3 qb status. He did quite well last year under the circumstances. I would have been comfortable with him backing up Bishop for the upcoming season.

I'd be quite surprised if he does not resurface in the CFL.

Not surprised that Butler was released. With Joseph and Bishop as the one two punch Rocky wasn't going to get much playing time. McNeal and Pickett will vie for the 3rd string and hopefully one of them will be a starter down the road.

The Anthony Davis move was surprising however. I thought that Ebell would be penciled in as the starter, but he could break a leg the first day of training camp. I guess they feel the Canadian backs can do the job as backups with this young kid Thomas probably being kept around on the PR.
Maybe they know Clifton Dawson will be released by the Colts and will be available.

Its too bad Ottawa couldn't start up this year as there appears to be some usefull vets available that can still play in the league IMO.

YES! BUTLER IS GOOD.
NOAH MADD THINKS BUTLER IS REALLY GOOD.
ROCKY SHOULDS HEAD BACKS TO RIDERS.
