Not just a homer pick, I honestly can't pick anyone else. Cornish is a no brainer. Hughes is a monster. Calgary's O line is head and shoulders above everyone else, could go with any of them. Parades has had a career year and Jones started all games as a rookie center.
Final
MOP - Cornish
Canadian - Cornish
Defense - Cox
O Lineman - Bryant
Special Teams - Parades
Rookie - Gable
Good catch. I copied and pasted then made changes. I will go with Muamba for my Eastern nominee for Canadian. Doesn't really matter because the are really being nominated for runner up in the category.
CORNISH for MOP. It would be nice to have a Canadian born player win the MOP for the first time since Tony Gabriel. :rockin:
I am also amazed by how many other Canadian born players and other non -imports like MUAMBA are up for awards that are not just for top Canadian and O-linemen.
Player - Kory Sheets
Defensive - Tyron Brackenridge
Canadian - Chris Getzlaf*
Offensive Lineman - Brendon LaBatte

Well I guess there's no sense even attending or tuning in then  Looks like a clean sweep for your Riders...NOT!!!
Oh well it will at least take the sting out of your team doing the big CHOKE and crapping out on making it to the Cup this year
I see my work is done here. Anything to get a rise out of a Ticat and Stamps fan 8) .
Everyone knows the Eastern bias rules at these things anyway. Take Chad Owens from last season as an example. Wouldnt doubt one bit if Ray wins MOP even though there are two more qualified candidates in Sheets and Cornish from the West who should probably win.
Sheets won't even get out of the West. Cornish is the Western Nominee & wins versus Ray.
Brackenridge doesn't make it out of the West. He's 3rd behind Hughes & Bighill. Doesn't matter ... Cox wins.
Getzlaf is the next Rider to lose to Cornish who is the Western Nominee & wins versus Durie.
LaBatte won't beat Bryant who wins versus January. (Not win IN January which RiderNation usually claims!)
Schmitt doesn't have a chance versus Parades who beats Beswick. (He's your punter right? Long Snapper?)
Steinhauer? I didn't even know the Riders had any rookies since they tried to buy a GC in FA! Gable wins over Jones here.
I'll bet you now ... not one Rider wins an award ... unless it's some sort of community award ... Nor will they be in they Grey Cup.
Best you can hope for is the 50/50 ... Which should be a nice takeaway!
You have a better chance at that than any Rider winning an award!
Here are your East/West finalist for year end awards....congrats to all finalists on a job well done, and good luck in the final balloting for all
On a personal note I only had 2 selections predicted wrong.....Canadian(Muamba)(picked Edem)and O.Lineman(Keeping)
(picked Jordain)
My predictions though for the winners haven't changed
Pretty good choices, in the West I knew that Calgary wasn't going to sweep, I guess Bryant got the short straw. In the East I guess they are OK no real surprises except for Special Team.
Of note, maybe they should hire a proof reader for when making such releases. "Only three Canadian players have been named the CFL Most Outstanding Player – Gabriel (1978) and Russ Jackson (1969, 1966, 1963)." must be the new math, I only come up with two. :cowboy:
Perhaps they have already conceded that it will be three after the awards are released.
Special Teams.....East nominee......why was it a surprise???? Who did you think would win it,that made it a surprise??? :?
Waters-Toronto ??? (no chance)(4th choice)(Every team in East had brutal F.G. kicking this year, everyone lousy!!)
Townsend-Montreal ???(no chance)(3rd choice)(Mtl special teams terrible this season)
Ford-Winnipeg ???(outside chance)(2nd choice)(Playing on 3-15 team hurt his chances)
Beswick-Hamilton  (led CFL in special team tackles with 24 total,4th time in 5 years #1 in category)
