Got bored with the ham/mont game, so at half time I switched to the women playing Costa Rica friendly. It was at the 68 min mark when I turned it on. Costa Rica with a 1-0 lead. During the next 15 minutes, our girls scored 4 goal. Far more entertainment. At first I was not sure it was the seniors playing as there was so many newer names on the field. Two girls scored their first senior goals, and a few more played very good. I see a great future for the next wave over the coming years.
Absolutely. Annabelle Chukwu is a serious force as Canada’s all time leading youth scoring leader. Jade Rose and Simi Awujo are also on the rise. Its great that all these players now have professional opportunities, which allows the national team to better scout players such as Mimi Alidou, who fell a bit between the cracks in the early years.
