Team awards nominations predictions

Okay it’s soon coming up to that time of year when league voting decides who from each team warrants nomination for the leagues year end awards ceremony . I thought it would be fun to predict who our nominees might/should be for each category .

So here for what it’s worth are my nominees …

MOP - Bo Levi Mitchell
OL - Brandon Revenberg
ROOK - Shemar Bridges
DEF - Jamal Peters
CDN - Kiondre Smith
ST - Marc Liegghio

I can’t argue with any of them.
Bo and Smith may be the only chances for Division nominees, however much Rev deserves it.

I think that Bridges has a good shot of representing the East as the Rookie nomination .

Mind-fart there. I agree.
Isn’t it saying something that even though we’re “bottom-dwellers” we have four legitimate players for Division honours, or, at the very least, Division All-Stars?

(They changed the “all-star” thing to "All-Canadian. Which doesn’t even make sense, since most of the nominees are American, and you can’t be “All-Canadian” if you’re a Division nominee and haven’t yet “beaten” your opponent…)

Honestly looking at our Canadian contingent on our roster and we really don’t have any standouts that are award worthy imo . We seem to have more team orientated guys that just go to work and get the job done as foot soldiers than we do guys who would be considered All-Stars .

K.Smith has 663 yards and 5 TDs so far…

He is no doubt having a standout season but as for being a standout he currently is ranked 5th in the league among Canadian receivers behind McInnis , Emilus , Tyson Philpot (inj) and Demski . Gittens is only behind him by a mere 8 yds and Schaffer-Baker is only 21 yds back .

MOP: Bo
OL: Woodmansey
DEF: Peters
CAN: Smith
SPT: Garand-Gauthier
ROK:Brydges

KATS would be an allstar, but he has Dequoy in the same division. Even Metchie has been good this year. Our interior Oline has been good.

Woodmansey is certainly worthy of the nomination but I think that Revenberg will get it on name recognition .

Garand-Gauthier was certainly in the running until that unfortunate season ending injury he endured a few games back . As for the other 4 predicted nominees we are in agreement .

Our O-Line especially the interior three have been one of the best interiors in the entire league this season .

We don’t really have a kick or punt return that deserves it. It has to go to a gunner.

Or a kicker…
