TAKE A BOW CITY OF CHAMPIONS; EDMONTON AVERAGES 41,933

Yes Esquimaux, that is what I was thinking, thanks. But thinking about this again, I know the Buffalo Bills recently reduced their capacity by some 8,000 seats, putting in some more enclosed suites. I wonder if the Eskies could do something similar, I don't know. 60,000 seating is an awful lot and, as mentioned, when it starts getting cold and games are played in the evenings, it's tough to get the real big crowds.
But, to be sure, the fans in Edmonton support the Esks just fantastic as it is, again, great stuff there Edmonton.

We have tarps covering the endzone seats below the jumbotron, but i dont think its really necessary to cover any seats up. The bottom looks really full almost all of the time, and in the top the crowd is scattered all over. The amount seated always appears to be lower at Commonwealth as well because there are alway so many people walking around the concourse, and waiting in very long concession lineups even though there's lots of concession stands. The bathrooms are huge too and they're always packed as well. Its weird.

I thought there would be more people at the game Friday night, but it was pretty chilly. The other game that was low on attendance this year was the labor day rematch, but it was figgin raining pretty much all day and all game and we still drew, I think around 43,000.

Hey drumming dog, think that will ever happen in Ottawa?

isn't ottawa's capacity ( at frank clair ) 35 000?....so i dont think they can get 43 000...lol

but i do expect them to have over 30 000 for every game in 2007, and have 24 -25 000 next season.

by the way....whats with callin me drumming DOG?.....

First of all, it's god spelt backwards. The reason I did that is because IO think you have aqn immense amount of gall to post a criticism about the attendance in Edmonton when you can't even fill your stadium without having some sort of stripper promotion.

It ticked me off cause I was at that game, caught a cold and know exactly what the weather and atmosphere were like for that particular game. It ws cold outside, but electric in the stands.

I called ya a dog because I was in the stands and given the temp I didn't think the attendance was "sad" as you put it. What I do think is sad is posters that like to take verbal liberties without engaging the part of the brain that actually does the thinking. Come sit in my seat in October and I'll bet you'll see it differently.

Cheers

come sit on your seat in October?....what seat is that?....october is done.

second....when u say, my stadium?....which stadium is that?...i dont own one.

u dont think its sad, that teams like sask would die for a home playoff game, yet edmonton doesnt sell out thiers...good on calgary for taking it away.

u say ottawa will never have 43 000, knowing thier stadium only holds 35 000.....duh

you should take your super toe outta your mouth!

Hey Supertoe now do not get angry here but the Champions by the Bow would that nobe the STamps they are by the Bow!

For eskimo fans it is sad to say, but, the sign should be changed to
CITY OF HAS BEENS!

CFL ROCKS
RIDER PRIDE NATION WIDE

Down with dome teams.

drumming_god, its pretty hard to sell out a 62,000 seat stadium in the CFL even with good weather and against a close rival. But doing it in -10 or less is virtually impossible. Its guaranteed that the Esks would have had a higher attendacne if we got a home playoff game rather than Calgary.

im not expecting them to sell 62 000 ....but i think selling equal to thier most attended regular season game should be.....

this year that was 53 000...but we'll never know how the eskies woulda fared this year's playoffs, cuz they blew thier chance.

Yup, first year with no home playoff game since 1999...:frowning:

Times are changing, but at least Edmonton is still in the playoffs. Can’t argue with that.

The west division was really competitive this year. We finished 9-9 and had a home semifinal game last year, and this year finish 11-7 in 3rd place which is only 2 points back from first....
