Since the home and home series began in 1989, the Elks have won 20 of the 34 meetings.
Today is the Elks first home game since August 11th, and marks the first home game since Larry Thompson purchased the team.

Despite it being a warm day (31 C) in Edmonton smoke from BC wild fires in the area is a concern, it’s not really moving anywhere with the wind measured as Calm.

Calgary is looking to spark an offence that did not perform well last week by starting Logan Bonner at QB. This will be the 26 year old native of Rowlett Texas first regular season start in the CFL.

I’m thinking that Calgary won’t like the result of this game. Know next to nothing about Logan Bonner so I will reserve judgement and wait to see how he performs.

I’m pretty sure that I saw him playing a sheriff in a Western movie and enjoyed both of his TV series Logan Bonner, MD and Logan Bonner, Esquire.

I totally reserve judgment until I see him play. I said it somewhere else but Calgary has tried to move away from Maier - but come back to him within a couple games.
Maybe this one is different? Don’t know. Dave never seems to be able to let a season go to be better for next season so we will see…

I alloted myself 5 bucks a week this season to bet on NFL games and decided to make a CFL bet instead.

I have bet 5$ for a potential $12.39. I took Edmonton Winning outright and also took the over set at 50.5

CFL is peculiar, Elks roster lists FB as empty. They use an O lineman, in the FB slot. Only in the kookie, quaint CFL.

Your only playing with funsie money, but if you want to win my advice is don’t parlay your bets. You will never win long term that way and now at least you aren’t forced to do so unlike the old sports select.

Heard Kate talking about backup long snappers;

The “backup” long snapper for Calgary is Paul-Antoine Ouellette from the University of Montreal. He was drafted in the 4th round of the National draft and is returning to school for the 2024-2025 season

I think this game we will see the return of tre ford. I say Macbeth gets hurt or has a bit of a stinker in the first half. Which leads to ford returning and just cooking thr stamps defense.

Calgary has been like the NHL teams that just sneak into the playoffs year - never good enough to win, just good enough to screw themselves out of really good draft picks…
