Is it just me or has anybody else
noticed that Suitor hasn’t been doin
g a Riders game in several weeks.
I have noticed this pleasant surprise but I think he did one in there somewhere.
It gives TSN a little more credibility when they don’t put the biggest watermelon cheerleader out there to make it a regional broadcast.

Ya but even when he is doing other games he continues to talk up the Riders and get them into the conversation somehow.

Suits does just the opposite. He slags the Riders just to give the “neutral look.” I don’t know where people get that he is a homer….a
I guess just the Rider haters. Still, I am not his fan. If you want a real homer, see Milt.
And, I watched a reply of a Rider game that he did…..and he consistently slanted his comments AGAINST THE RIDERS. Anyone who claims otherwise is delusional.

You are one of the few on here that doesn’t appear to see the bias that Suitor has. Personally that doesn’t bother me much and my main beef with him is that he is boring, banal and uninteresting as a colour commentator. He needs to retire. thanks for coming out Suits!
And the whataboutism approach in citing Milt doesn’t work and has nothing to do with whether Suitor is biased or not. Milt owns his bias and doesn’t try to pretend it doesn’t exist like Suitor does. We even have a street named after him. Muamba is biased in favour of Toronto and Fargone is biased in favour of BC. that’s the way she goes with former players or coaches or home broadcasters in the case of Lalji.

-I beg to differ. If you discount posters who hate the Riders, there are very few who see bias. I would like someone to post an ACTUAL EXAMPLE of Suits’ bias. I don’t know why I am defending him because I want him gone too…..but, for a different reason: he just can’t shut up. Penalties, and other things are happening on the field, and he is too busy yapping, so he just ignores same. OK…I do know why I am defending him….because I can’t stand BS, or unfair critique. As you are well aware, making an argument for or against something, is not supported by the statement: “eveyrbody says he is guilty….. or not guilty.” And, I am guilty of same by starting my post with “there are very few……”

Well I’m certainly not a Rider hater, but as stated, can’t stand Suitor based on performance issues rather than bias issues. I do, however, see his blatant Rider bias.
Not my war to wage though. Perhaps a couple of weeks ago Crash made a post setting out some of the ways Suitor is biased in response for a request made by I don’t remember who. You may wish to search for that post.
Many on here find Suitor biased and you say you don’t. Fair enough to have a difference of opinion, but accusing those with a different opinion of posting BS or providing an unfair critique doesn’t ring true for me and I could just as easily ask what your proof of that is and accuse you of bias, neither of which I am doing.
I am clearly biased….but that does not mean that I can not be objective. However, as previously stated, I feel that anything that is not supported by fact is BS, and unfair. I don’t remember the post that you mentioned, I would like to see/hear real evidence. As you said, there are a number of biased “homer” broadcasters; I just feel that Suits is the least biased. I get upset when he says something that is unfair AGAINST the Riders. Still, to repeat, he should retire, or get some counselling on how to actually do his job. The old adage is proved true: “I dont agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” If calling it BS is over the top, I apologize…let’s just call it unsubstantiated. Suits is definitely not my fav, but he keeps an even keel. Feel free to call that last sentence BS or unsubstantiated. And, maybe the following shows bias: why are whole threads devoted to just Suits? repeatedly…..I don’t see this with other commentators.

Seems to me, Suitor can compliment a player for a great play, from any team, but as soon as he does that for a Rider, then it’s “He’s biased”.
Anyway I agree I’d like to see him replaced.

Suitor isn’t just a rider homer, but he totally sucks as a commentator. dude is boring, mundane and sounds like he can barely follow the play sometimes. goes on random meaningless tangents, usually stroking his rider you know what.

You know what though, he’s be an all-star poster on this forum come to think of it. He would absolutely fit right in. Thinking here of the tangents stuff as you mention.

If Suitor says “terrific run by Rankin”. . . crickets
If Suitor says “that was a heck of a throw by Alexander”. . . crickets
If Suitor says “McManis sure read that play”. . . crickets
If Suitor says “Great catch by Lawlor”. . . crickets
If Suitor says “that throw by Collaros was pinpoint accurate”. . . crickets
If Suitor says “that was a heavy hit by Awe”. . . crickets
But if Suitor says “Great read by Milligan on that interception”. . HE’S biased !!!

You’ll have to ask the OP why he started the thread. Any person can start a thread on Suitor or any other commentator. I don’t find it an overly interesting thread nor is it likely to be long lasting and I expect my participation is done.
Suitor is discussed pretty much in every game thread for which he works colour and the comments generally aren’t positive.

Suitor is any more of a homer than others and his snips against the riders seem like an effort to be impartial that no one’s buying.
He’s just boring and annoying.

So he is not allowed to talk of the team in first place over all when play offs are spoken about… Give yer collective heads a shake.
I also think he needs to be replaced and. Better a much better comenttor can easily be found but dammit people…
I looked at that old thread. So, what is wrong with giving a player some background, some identity? He does that with non Riders too. Obviously, if you have some insight into a player, you are in a better position to comment. We need MORE of same. I visit other sites to get insight into non-Rider players. There is a current ad running about a couple players going across the pond to help, or possibly shill, for worldvision. I like to see the human element, not just athletic prowess on the field.

I’ve always seen him as bleeding green but he’s very complimentary of others as well. As soon as it’s about the riders it seems biased given his affiliation once upon a time.
Non of that forgives what a lousy commentator and PBP guy he is though!
