Stripping Posts

Apparently one has to agree that the Ticats played an outstanding game in order to get posts submitted. If you talk about events from the game that you thought were unacceptable, the moderators strip your post. Thanks guys!

Pretty sure if you follow the forum guidelines, crticisms won't be deleted.

* Common sense - Just because it isn't explicitly stated as one of the rules below doesn't mean it's OK. Use common sense and good Netiquette when posting, replying and browsing these forums. This includes the following:

· No posts for the sole purpose of increasing your postcount.
· No "senseless" posts. Yes, its subjective. As a subjective way to help understand, if a coherent conversation cannot be read in the thread, it might be senseless.
· Keep the forums free from SPAM. This means no SPAM posting, no personal messaging SPAM, no SPAM in signatures or elsewhere in your profile. SPAM includes unsolicited messaging. If it takes you hours to send hundreds of Personal Messages, it is still SPAM. Also, please do not reply to SPAM, just report it to a Mod.
· Any posts advertising items you have for sale or are looking to purchase (including tickets), your new website, etc will be removed. Also, please refrain from beginning threads advertising your website/myspace/blog/twitter/facebook page.

 • No profanity - There will be zero tolerance of profanity in post, including using symbols to mask profanity.

 • Choose a good subject - Do not make your subject say just "Hey?, nobody wants to hear this. Describe your topic briefly in your subject, then feel free to comment.

 • No bashing - If someone is posting in a thread, don't simply tell them they wrong. Instead, provide facts or opinions supporting your views, provide positive feedback, and please keep the criticism low.

 • Keep on topic - If you are replying about something to do with starting lineups for example, and someone mentions a play call, don't start talking about the play call, stick to the topic. Go start a new topic play call topic and post a link to the old one if there is relevant information there.

 • Don't make off-topic posts - This is a forum to discuss the Canadian Football League, the Tiger-Cats and relevant issues surrounding the team and league. Any posts that are deemed off-topic may be locked or removed at the moderator's discretion.

 • No personal attacks - These forums are not a place for you to take cheap shots at somebody because he/she did something. Do that some place else (or better yet, get over it). You have been warned. Personal attacks or insults, threats, and just plain impolite posts will be removed and that user will be banned.

 • Images - Keep image sizes within reason. If you use an avatar or include an it should have a height of 80 pixels or less and a reasonable width. We reserve the right to remove images with offensive, annoying or otherwise problematic content.

 • Multiple accounts - Each person should have only one account. If you get banned for some reason and simply create another account, it might get banned the minute the moderators become aware of it.

 • No rumour mongering - posts containing anything that resembles "My friend (or neighbour, brother, etc) knows a player and he said _______" will be removed immediately.

 • Do not post entire articles from newspapers or other sites -- only provide a link to them.

 • Observations from practice that may put the team at a competitive disadvantage will be removed immediately

BS. Young killed a thread himself last week because he didn't like criticism of his BFF Scott Mitchel.

No NEgative vibes: " Don't worry be happy  " yes they police and block at will

OK, so let's see. We have a team which has a defensive line that stands up and let's the opposing QB pass without a rush (mentioned by the announcers). We have corners who get fooled on every sweep and go the wrong way. We have DBs who let players run right past them and then make little or no effort to catch them. We have a defensive coach who apparently thinks that blitzes are a useless commodity and a coach who imagination is to this date non existent and apparently doesn't believe in running plays when nothing else is working. There were some Ticats who played well like Bakari, McCoolough, the internal secondary and some of the pass receivers as well as our great kicker. It was embarassing and frustrating to watch.

No, it was because it was insulting and personal to more than one person.

That thread was locked, not deleted --- and the reasons...

Common netiquette that I wish was enforced more here.

Ha! You know what/ We were killing ourselves over that comment made by Glen Suitor, because when TSN showed the replay, 3 of the 4 D-lineman were cut down! Not standing! Anyone else notice that? I thought Suitor's commentating was pretty bad that game. But yes, Hamilton's pass rush was inadequate.

We have corners who get fooled on every sweep and go the wrong way.
I noticed that happened to McCollough at least twice. Was he the outside LB?
We have DBs who let players run right past them and then make little or no effort to catch them.
Yeah, on the 2nd Bagg TD I believe, it looked exactly like that! the DB covering just let him run right past and appeared to give a half hearted pursuit. Very strange! Was it Murray?
We have a defensive coach who apparently thinks that blitzes are a useless commodity and a coach who imagination is to this date non existent and apparently doesn't believe in running plays when nothing else is working.
the frustration shows in your desire to see more blitzes and a running game. Understandable.

Yes, Grant played well and I even liked what I saw form Stephen. McCollough though did not impress me yesterday. Embarrassing and frustrating for sure!

Internet forums are not a democracy and never will be. To assume you have any type of rights to free speech here is a bit delusional.

It's not that I agree with the methods they use but this is their real estate on the WWW, not ours. If you have issue and want to protest then the only power you really have is to abstain.

The team clearly doesn't want to know what fans really think. Only the ones who paint a pretty and false picture with their words will ever truly be heard.

But who wants to be seen as manipulative and self-serving ?

Not true.

This board is full of criticisms and negative posts about the caretaker, president, scouts, coaches, players, refs, broadcasters, politicians and other posters.

Being angry, frustrated and disappointed when the team struggles is understandable, but it's incumbent upon us all to exhibit proper decorum, respect and courtesy towards others.

Captain, no one is saying that you don't have the right to strip or the decorum ought to be preserved. We are saying that you are autocratic in decisions and comments. In simplest of terms, this means that on one play you call a penalty, on the next play you let it go. You get it?

bane: I disagree completely with this.
I have been on this and previous Tiger-Cat forum since 1998. During that time I have seen a lot of comments that contradict what you say…including some from me
I have seen a huge amount of criticism that has been levelled over the years at other posters, the team, the coaches and Bob Young. I have been very surprised about the general lack of censorship on this forum. Take some time to look at some of the older threads and you will see what I mean.
Maybe the team, players and coaches don’t bother reading what we write but if they did they would have seen a bucketload of criticism hurled their way over the years.
I have visited many NFL forums where it all looks like a PR site.
We are very fortunate to have such an open forum as this one.

Oh, I get it now. Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, I've said several times that i wished the guidelines were enforced consistently.

The DB on the Bagg Touchdown was Bucknor. Not the first time we've see that !

You're right. I was thinking the Geroy Simon reception shown here at the 6;00 mark. Is Simon that fast, or does the DB look like he's dogging it? I dunno. Couldn't get that outta my head when I was watching the game.

First Bagg T.D was Parks in coverage, second was Bucknor.....not that it matters but the only reason they were in was because of injuries.
