Steinberg's MMQB: The time is now in the nation's capital

I love that Shawn Burke is wasting no time in reshaping the Ottawa REDBLACKS. On the job as Ottawa’s new general manager for less than two months, Burke has hit the ground running in the leadup to 2022 Free Agency, which opens on Tuesday. After a second straight three-win season, Burke has made it clear winning now is the only priority for the REDBLACKS.

Lawler will be a wonderful addition but the Lions have not addressed the O-line problems. How much of a difference will Lawler make without a strong offensive line?

Completely agree. The Lions look to be losing Steward to Ottawa, Matthews is unsigned as is Godber, far as we know today. If he gets knocked around like Reilly it will be the same old, same old. As a side note the Esks have upped the ante on Lawler to $300K. Just crazy money thrown around.

Jaelon Acklin is an excellent signing. This guy was terrific in the playoffs and will have a banner year should he stay healthy.
Powell is a good back. But his blocking and mind for the game are second to none. Massoli will love this guy in protection.
Duke, Moore and Evans are an excellent group of American receivers but Shaeffer-Baker is a coveted Canadian and fan favourite. This group will be fun to watch.
Lawler keeps getting named a "BC Lion". but I do not see any signing? A receiver leaving Collaros to play for Rourke??? Its gonna take a lot of Moola$$ to pull that off!
