Are there any preliminary reports on STE’s knee? Is it a hyper-extension or some thing disastrous?
Seems injury prone. Three times so far this season
How is he injury prone? He took a hard shot to the knee area(some angles looked like his knees directly …another angle looked like the thigh) by a defensive player going full out. Maybe any other player would have been carried off on a stretcher. He is one tough football player.
A little critical don’t you think?
Nope, had to leave the game in the last three games
Still nothing on STE? Not even rumors?
No he went off because he was banged up but returned, that’s not leaving the game. He was a practice preparing after both games. This was a serious one though.
News vacuum is the new normal. Get used to it.
- And not one mention of Chris Van Zeyl’s injury status :-[ :-[ :
Additionally unsettling to Ticats fans were knee injuries incurred by running back Sean Thomas Erlington, who was off to a magnificent start this year but had to be carried off by two teammates midway through the opening quarter, and ratio-altering right tackle Chris Van Zeyl, hurt late in the fourth. They were to undergo MRI tests Friday night to determine the extent of the damage.
Why would the TiCats want CGY to know what our injury status is on our starters?? ???

It was a low hit to the knees . It was a cheap shot but haven’t heard anything from Smilin’ Hank about it. Give your head a shake on the “injury prone” comment . It appears that you’ve never played the game . >:(. The guy is a warrior !
Lenny’s assessment was right on !
Pat Lynch (the old torn rotator, broken thumb, and ankle bone chips guy)
If that was the reason there was no news i’d almost accept it. But we both know that isn’t the case.
So...an MRI Friday (since it’s not a scheduled appointment) at night. By the time the results are reviewed by a Dr., then looked at by Ticats training staff, it’s now sometime Saturday. No media (internal or external) coverage on Sunday’s so since it’s early Monday I wouldn’t expect any updates yet. Maybe at media scrum after practice.
Some people are so impatient.....
Bang on Pat. I guess, in Hank’s view, Thomas Erlington doesn’t need to “feed his family? and there is “a place in the game? for that type of hit and tackler? But to be equitable, did any other members of the panel step up to comment? Or is it just formerly injured QBs that deserve opinionated editorial comment when re-injured?
To be honest, it looked more like a hit to the thigh. But then we also know that the knee starts at the upper thigh, according to Burris, so yeah, I guess it was a hit to the knee. And no word from him. That is strange, isn't it?
I agree that the hit was on S.TE’s left thigh, definitely above the knee, but it occurred with the receiver’s left foot just firmly planted and one replay angle shows, clearly, that his knee was hyper-extended. With both injuries initially diagnosed as possibly serious enough to call for MRI’s, it wouldn’t be surprising to learn that either, or both, are season ending. I will be surprised if either player sees action within a month even if no ligament or cartilage tears are discovered.
That hit on STE looked perfectly legal and was just an unfortunate bang-bang football play. Hopefully the injury is just a few weeks and not season ending.
If CVZ and STE are both out, that would seem to guarantee Coombs a starting spot. Perhaps even two if that was possible (RB and receiver).
Since that is not possible, we could have ratio issues, unless Westerman is ready to go.
Not sure we have another starting-caliber NAT receiver.
If Adeleke goes to LB that could affect Rico - or Rico could slide over to cover for his suspended LB colleague.
Or Shorthill could start for Simoni.
Rick Zamperin reported that STE is not at practice today 4 days after the injury
That Coombs signing in huge now!
