Caver was brought to Hamilton specifically to compete for the rush end spot. They see him as a possible replacement for Cotton or Cheatwood. McKay-Loescher already has one of those starting rush end spots locked up. Caver or Reid will probably take the other.
One would think Devonte Peterson (who I'm surprised the Cats even brought back this year) will have to show something tonight, or he will be in jeopardy of becoming a backup to either Dunbrack or Bekasiak at DT. (or maybe even an eventual cut)
In particular I'm looking forward to see how McKay-Loescher, Caver, Reid and Bekasiak play on Thursday.
Yes he was released after the second day of camp. But what is even more baffling is why he’d list a guy who’s 220 pounds as a defensive tackle. I think the Spectator needs to start some kind of drug testing.
Thanks,BG.
Call me fussy but this is the kind of info I find useful as a fan instead of, I dont know, asking import players if they know where Winnipeg is?
Zontar, you are right, the Ticat media contact person
can only tell the media people about these changes
if they are around to notice them and think to ask.
I noticed Quinton Caver, who had been on the roster,
was back on it and he assured me that it wasn’t a typo
I didn’t think to ask why he was off the roster, BG.
Maybe the team had their reasons rather than
the player having personal issues to deal with.
There are a fixed number of players
allowed on a CFL Training Camp roster.
Maybe he pulled a muscle.
Instead of having him stand around
picking his nose for several days
taking up a TC roster spot
Maybe they took him off the roster
to get another player who plays
his position on the field,
especially since the team
is not set on the D-Line.
The Cats seem to have plenty of players
readily available for Training Camp this year.
