HAMILTON YOU HAVE TO WIN ON THE FIELD FOR 60 MINUTES, NOT TO HAVE PORTER AND THE CFL REFS DETERMINE THE BECOME LIKE THEY DID IN BC IN ORDER TO HAVE THE HOME TEAM WIN, I`M LOSING ALOT OF RESPECT FOR THE CFL, THEIR REFS, AND THEIR TACTICS TO DETERMINE THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME. IF I WERE THE STAMPS AND ALS I WOULD BE PUSHING THIS TO THE LIMIT. THERE WAS KNOW INTEND TO INJURY WITH HELMET BUT PORTER STAGED IT AND THE REPLAY SHOWED CLEARING THERE WAS NO INFRACTION AND THE CFL REF WAS STANDING RIGHT BESIDE IT AND THREW THE FLAG SO HAMILTON COULD WIN, LIKE THEY CHEATED MTL AGAINST BC, SO BC COULD WIN.
WHY WASN`T THERE A REVIEW LAST NITE IN HAMILTON WHICH THEY SAID WOULDN`T HAPPEN AGAIN AFTER THEY ADMITTED THEY WERE WRONG IN BC WHICH THE ALS PROTECTED, CALGARY SHOULD PROTEST TOO.
I`M VERY UPSET LIKE ALOT OF CFL FANS, THIS MAKES THE CFL LOOK BAD, REALLY BAD WHEN THERE DETERMINING OUTCOMES OF GAMES, BY WANTING CERTAIN TEAMS TO WIN.
PLEASE LEAVE MY POST AND PLEASE STOP TAKING MY POSTS OFF, IT`S A FREE COUNTRY AND I ALLOWED FREEDOM OF SPEECH, RESPECT THAT. CFL UPSET VIEWER AND SUPPORTER OF THE LEAGUE AND GREY CUPS WHICH I ATTEND REGULARLY.
I BELIEVE WHAT I POSTED ON THIS POST TO BE TRUEAS WELL AS MANY OTHER CFL FANS AND SUPPORTERS OF THE LEAGUE.
I agree, it should have been no call on the Porter hit. It was a bad call, it happens. Did it make a difference in the outcome of the game, yes. But it was no where near as bad of a call as the Als Lions game. It was one bad call in a 60 minute game, it happens.
Obviously you can't review every penalty that is called.
Your full of it you know that? Your not allowed to lead with your head when tackling a QB and Calgary did. How about your boys throwing Bruce to the turf in the endzone before the ball was even near him and no call? How about our defender barely touching Copeland in the endzone and getting the interference call that got you a free TD? Teams get screwed all the time, every single team has been screwed over this year at one point or another. That call at the end was your defenders fault. Don't lead with your head on Porter, you get the ball back with plenty of time to score. Instead let's get frustrated and try and put him on the 9 game IR, and then wonder why the ref calls something on us. You guys going Argo style or something? So many attempts to try and injure our players, not even funny.
You CANNOT lead with your helmet when tackling a QB. Intent does NOT matter. If intent was a factor in calling a penalty then most penalties would be called because I doubt anyone usually intends to be offside or intends to interfer.
The Stamps played terribly. Burris was off and when he was on his receivers dropped the ball. Not the refs fault.
The refs should be ashamed of themselves for the call on the late hit at the end of the Stamps / Cats game. There was no hit to the head, no helmet to helmet contact and the hit wasn't late. The refs cost the Stamps a chance to win the game.
Unfortunately year after year the quality of officating in the CFL is very poor and something needs to be done. Now I love the CFL, I watch a lot of NFL also, but prefer the CFL. But one obvious difference between the two leagues is that the quality of officating is much better in the NFL. Much better. And another thing, when a ref blows a big call in the NFL, like Ed Hockuli did last year which was a call which clearly cost San Diego a win, the league actually ADMITS that the ref made a mistake. Have you ever seen the CFL admit that a ref made a mistake? No of course not, they just come up with yet another lame excuse and fine any member of the losing team who criticizes the officials too much. This reflects poorly on the league.
This call wasn't nearly as bad as the one at the end of the Als / Lions game however, because that cost the Als a tie game for sure. This call only would have given the Stamps a chance. And Stamps fans...by the way...your team DEFINATELY deserved to lose that game based on their performance. The Cats were the better team who dserved to win last night's game. So you might want to blame your own team before the ref's for that one!
....which one is it mike? if our offence sucked then the ticat D didn't really dominate did it? I mean how to you dominate something that really sucks, sort of like dominating a kitten, how do you do that?...or did the ticat D dominate? in which case the stamp offence didn't really suck they were actually dominated and controlled by the ticat D...cake and eat it too.... I love logic loopholes...
...just joshing anyway, Calgary didn't deserve the W and Hamilton played a come-from-behind game which is always entertaining...the rematch will be a gooder I'm sure...
Hank was 10-25 for 100 yards and change. If you're gonna yell, start with that.
Even without the penalty, Hamilton would have punted, and Henry would have made an overthrow, an underthrow, and something which would have caused him to whine to the officials. And THEN they would have lost.
agreed this is just poor losing suck it up "fans" that call did not directly affect the game!! Could it have maybe but a football game isn't won by "if's" and "couldve's" Its won on the gridiron by the players not the ref's Quit the whining wow. Every teams ends up getting a few bad calls it happenes from time to time but some of you "fans" are just being abnoxious!!!
The penalty was bush league, if the shoe was on the other foot i would be livid. Porter looked like a freaking hockey player with his acting ability. I think that this had to be a makeup call for the one that was missed and Porter complained about (i didnt really have a problem with, it was his fault for taking so long to go down). But all in all the calls go either way, a couple more breaks the other way and it would have been a different ball game.
as a stamps fan, and a topic about being robbed... is next weeks game going to be blacked out in Calgary? my schedual said this one was blacked out in hamilton.
i predicted a stamps win, and a cover on the spread... now im in trouble with my friendsd that bet with the stamps.
hey im a stamps fan, im not whining. no game is ever called perfectly. same as the als game. one bad call near the end may decide a game, but so did every bad call, missed call through out the entire game.
Hey, you gotta learn to live with these CFL officials. I shrugged it off when a call “cost” us the game against SSK, Edmonton shrugged it off when a call “cost” them the game against us, the realy only legit complaint that was made this year was the BC-Als robbery that’s it. That penalty was just, check it out. You can’t lead with your head when tackling a QB and they did. Had they tackled properly, Calgary would’ve had the ball back on a punt. Wasn’t a guaranteed win, after all Calgary’s O was getting shut down all night long.
Holy Hell !! wow, someone truly has no bloody clue! mods should just suspend him for awhile..
anyways.
the guys are right, he lead with the head! he may not have hit him, but Porters reaction was because when he had his head down, the player tackling him landed ON HIS HEAD!!!!!!!!!
that's why Porter made that movement after, because he had his head almost sat on!! and that WOULD HURT GUYS!
so the RIGHT CALL was made! and even the Broadcasters agreed with it!
so shut up and quit your whining and making excuses for your team, who was so pathetic!
You’re not allowed to hit a guy in the head; intent to injure is only a factor in deciding whether to call a rough play penalty or a disqualification.
The earlier play that Porter complained about that wasn’t called wasn’t a hit to the head, but leading with the helmet, aka spearing. That was an obvious foul that the officials missed.
But you must be right, spidey. It’s clear that the CFL favours the Tiger-cats and wants them to win every game. There must be some giant conspiracy whereby the league has instructed the officials to make sure the Ticats win every game. The fact that the Ticats lost 57 games in the last 4 years, and lost 3 of their previous 4 regular season games, is evidence that the refs have not been doing their job.
Or is your argument that the officials are instructed to make sure the home team wins? If so, they still haven’t been doing their job, since home teams have a combined record of 24-17, which is hardly decisive enough to prove your point. (Hmm, 24-17…where have I heard those numbers recently?) Although, that would explain why the Tiger-cats are 1-4 on the road. We must have been robbed by the officials to ensure victories by Montreal, Edmonton, Toronto and Saskatchewan. That’s got to be it. There can be no other explanation.
