I didn’t see the comments as ignorant, but rather just as joking around.
Even if you took the comments as being ignorant, the solution isn’t to come back and say that Mosaic stadium looks like a toilet seat, especially when your team plays out of what is widely considered the worst stadium in the league.
Of course not everyone on the forum is a Stamps fan or Rider fan or Bomber fan and it being sports there will be some banter or even trash talk. I don’t see any reason to get worked up because someone has a favourite team other than the Stamps. As long as we keep it civil. There is no need to start labelling people as being “jealous” and I certainly haven’t seen that at all.
actually no. the bombers simply laid an egg. if this was a hard fought game that saw the bombers playing at their best and losing, then i would be impressed. the stamps simply got lucky because the bombers played a very lousy game all around. Collaros does not throw 2 pick-6’s in 9 out of 10 games. stop acting like the stamps just won the western final.
Actually I really do not care one bit what you see because everything is about your team and no other team in your opinion play as good. That is why jealousy comes into the picture when another teams plays a terrific game that the stats prove they are better. Then Rider and Bombers fans get upset that their standings are going to suffer. I have on many occasions stated a great game by other teams but apparently that is not how some Bomber and Rider fans act.
These are professional teams and they have a whole week to prepare. The Calgary Stampeders played a great game and should be commended for doing just that. Their competition as you said were lousy, and the facts are that Collaros throwing 2 pick 6s crumbled under the pressure the stamps brought to the game coupled with great heads up defensive actions by the Stamps DBs. It is very disrespectful to say that the Stamps were simply LUCKY. The Stamps CAN NOT control how the competition plays the game or if they are adequately prepared to play the game. The Stamps did play a hard fought game and controlled the game from kick off to the final whistle, every stat proves that, so LUCK was not the result determiner, it was a very poor prepared opposition who deserved the beat down and the well prepared Stamps who dished that out. Stop acting like the Winnipeg team is the only professional team in the CFL who deserve praise and respect, or even excuses because they have not earn it.
We have to consider one positive point concerning McMahon Stadium. While it IS old and some consider it out-of-date, it does have full-sized endzones. That is not true for 50% of the Eastern Division.
Stamps defensive play calling was brilliant! Can’t outright stop Oliviera, but we contained him, and waited for opportunities to kill their drives. The secondary got two pick sixes off of the genereally accepted best QB in the league! Bring on the Riders!
I was in the stands for the Stampede Bowl and was happy to see a decent sized crowd that was energized and enthusiastic. Whatever it takes to get people in the stands can’t be a bad thing. My hope is that year by year this game gains in popularity until we sell it out In my section my 10 year old grand daughter had a lot of company with other youngsters. Very good sign. Something to build on for sure.
As for the Bombers, they were bad, real bad. Worst I’ve seen them in a long time. They are beatable. It gives hope to the rest of us. Well done Stamps
