Did they really require that cheesy looking trophy?

I thought it looked awesome. Are you against the team starting a new “bowl”?

Yes, he is. Against everything in fact…

Congratulations Stamps, well played. Bombers never got out of the gate.

VA and The Stamp defence played well. Nice to see Moncrief make a big play. Always liked his game. Collaros, like any QB prone to mistakes when pressured. Good on Stamps to win the line of scrimmage. Always key in beating WBB. Hard to do.

Not often you see a team control the game from start to finish. That was a beat down, and all we can do is give props and lick our wounds.
See you next week. We need Troy Westwood to come up for a name for this revenge game.

Not so fast there. The horsies have to stop over in Riderville to beat them up first…

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at [/quote]stamps exposed wpg as mediocre team they are

VA worth every penny they pay him, pundits like hodge are wrong as usual ,cgy is much better than pitiful bc and edm ,they will easily make the playoffs

That’s an awesome trophy, and as our resident sage overgrown beaver @Maaax pointed out to us during the game, it also has an EE on it.

Do this again every year Calgary!

I am summoning my inner Troy Westwood… concentrate… concentrate…

First name that comes to mind for the return match against the Stamps is The Horses@@t Bowl. It’s simple, it’s got name recognition and it’s best kept down wind. :beaver:

Or you could clean it up perhaps and just call it the Horse Pucky Classic?

Yes… yes… I like the sound of that Paolo. The Horse Pucky Classic has a down to earth sod stomping ring to it. :cowboy_hat_face:

AWE ! Look So many arrogant jealous fans from Winnipeg ((Maaax) Edmonton (Paolo_X) and Montypython because their team didn’t come up with a beautiful trophy like the Stampeders did. Slighting the trophy and / or the great Stampeder team. So sad for them. The Game was well attended because of the planning by the Stamps organization tying it to the Stampede (GREATEST OUTDOOR SHOW ON EARTH). More teams need to sell the CFL better and get attendance up.

BC fans praised VA, too, until he started playing lousy. Yeah, I’m not too sure if the Lions will make the playoffs this year.

I don’t see Winnipeg or Saskatchewan fans being jealous or arrogant, especially not Maaax whom I know a bit. Perhaps you are showing a bit of arrogance at the rarity of the Stamps beating the Bombers and actually being above .500 this late into the season?

The Winnipeg/Saskatchewan rivalry already has an iconic trophy for the Banjo Bowl which has existed for many years and has meaning to the participants and fans in the #1 rivalry in the CFL. Perhaps the trophy your team just created and that so far no one I know outside of Calgary and TSN cares about will be something special in the future. Otherwise I can assure you that not one Bomber player could care less about the newly minted trophy and I personally don’t know a Bomber fan that cares about it either. And besides, where would the Bombers be able to find room to put yet another trophy? (if you want arrogance)

22,000 fans in a city of 1 million people plus all the tourist there for stampede is not a well attended game. The stamps have not been a well attended team in many many years. Well, aside from when the riders are in town.
