To push whom? Copeland, Lewis and Thurmon? what the stamps need more than to add receivers to the mix is maybe some defensive backs, unless you could switch some of the receivers into DB's

Today, May 1, the Calgary Stampeder Football Club announced the free agent signing of Defensive Backs RoShawn Marshall, Cedrick Williams, J.R. Ruffin and A.K. Keys.

“These defensive backs are all young but very talented,� said General Manager Jim Barker. “Marshall, Keys and Ruffin are all proven returners. Williams is an excellent cover corner.�

Set the CMSU records for punt return yards in a season (553), punt returns for touchdown (4), punt return average (21.3), and tied the mark for punt return touchdowns in a game (2)… also had 20 tackles and two for a loss on the year…He blocked a kick against Lincoln and had an interception against Adams State (Colo.)... was also named MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week for his two returns for touchdowns against Truman State.

He was ranked as the No. 1 junior college cornerback in the nation by JCFootball.com and College Football News ... he earned all-conference and JuCo All-America honors for head coach Chuck Lyons at College of the Canyons in Los Angeles, Calif. ... as a sophomore he had 16 tackles, two pass interceptions, and five pass breakups at cornerback, and also returned 38 punts for 434 yards ... he helped lead Canyons to the 2004 JUCO.com and JC Football National Championships after posting a perfect 14-0 record.
Noteworthy
He was a four year starter and All-State selection for head coach Don Davis at Tarpon Springs (Fla.) High School ... as a senior he was a Nike & Student Sports All-America selection as well ... he helped Tarpon to four District titles and played in the Florida-Georgia All-Star Game following his senior campaign ... also a track & field standout, he had two state titles in the 100 and 200 meter dashes … majored in Criminal Justice.

Ruffin’s speed and athleticism solidified his position as a key figure in the revamped Vandal secondary although he split time as a sprinter on the UI track team.

Ruffin played in five games and started three…In that abbreviated appearance, he had 32 tackles (24 solo, eight assists), two pass breakups, one tackle-for-loss, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one blocked kick…He had a career-best 11 tackles at New Mexico State, the game during which he also had a career high nine solo stops.
Junior College
Ruffin played for Citrus College at Azusa, California…He was an all-conference and all-state honoree at receiver and defensive back…He also ran track and was similarly recognized on the all-state and all-conference teams…In addition, he was a captain for both squads and was a scholar-athlete.
Noteworthy
In 2000 he graduated from Detroit East Side, where he played quarterback, receiver, defensive back and kick returner for the Doughboys...He earned all-conference, all-Metro and all-Detroit honors at East Side…majored in Crime and Justice Studies.
