CALGARY (CP) - The Calgary Stampeders signed offensive co-ordinator and assistant head coach Steve Buratto to a multi-year contract extension Wednesday.

Buratto led the Stampeders to a stellar offensive season that saw the club finish third in the CFL in total offence and first in rushing yards. The improved output resulted in an 11-7 record - a seven-win increase from 2004 - and Calgary's first playoff appearance since the Stampeders won the 2001 Grey Cup.

"Offensively we did some great things this past season under Steve," Stampeders head coach Tom Higgins said in a statement. "Re-signing him bodes well for the organization and ensures continuity both on and off the field for the team's offence."

The team also retained special teams co-ordinator Craig Dickenson and secondary coach Tim Burke for next season.

Congratulations. Steve B deserves the recognition and hopefully the $$$.
