STAMPEDER TRAINING CAMP – DAY 18

Wednesday, June 20, 2007 - 06:17PM

(Calgary) – With the roster slightly thinner than it started, the atmosphere at practice has turned from evaluation to preparation as the Stampeders round the clubhouse turn at training camp. The Stampeders will practice again tomorrow before making the trip to Regina on Friday for their battle against the Roughriders.

PLAYS THAT STOOD OUT…
The play of the day and arguably the catch of training camp came in practice this morning when Ken-Yon Rambo leapt through the air to catch a pass that would otherwise have sailed out of bounds behind him. Earlier in the practice session, Nik Lewis, while sprinting right down the hash marks, caught a high pass from Henry Burris for a touchdown while Brett Ralph made the exact same play, this time from Akili Smith on the other hash marks. The defense looked sharp all day, which was highlighted by a handful of quarterback hurries and run stoppages. Brandon Stewart also intercepted a long pass deep in his own end zone to prevent a touchdown.
