It reappeared today, probably marketing wanted to remind everyone. But I was able to disable it again.
Odds are that it's a browser setting. If I had to guess, I'd say you might have cookies turned off. Maybe your anti-virus / anti-spyware software decided to do this without telling you? You know, because it knows best.

Nope. No changes to settings, etc. Odd. Oh well… at least it isn’t one with sound. Now THAT would be annoying.
