Boy if you can get Clermont you’ll be happy. I dont think he’ll want to relocate-career winding down , real estate career in regina. But this guy was the glue who solidified the Lions…a competitor, a leader, first down guy and a MAN.

Quinn signed (or will soon sign) with Toronto. He was around all last year, and played 8 games with us in total. He was hurt too. Some folks on the Rider boards really like him. But he couldn't take the starting job away from Gerran Walker, so I don't know.
Jordan Sisco is not likely to see the 46 man roster anytime soon, and possibly not this year. If someone tries to take him off the PR, he'll be activated for 1 game, and then will suffer a season-ending injury and be 9-gamed.
Jason Clermont is not going anywhere...unless we're offered a deal that rivals Wayne Smith and DJ Flick for Rocky Butler for one-sidedness. While he does not get many stats, he plays a surprising number of snaps per game in our 2 TE sets. Plus he plays most teams, AND he'd be next up if Fantuz, Dressler or Getzlaf go down.

really, titus ryan is out for a few weeks with a thumb injury (broken i thought i heard) so wont be him. armstrong basically told wpg to eff themselves.

PLP might have interest in getting some hometown hero’s on the squad as they understand the squad’s importance and love to fight for the team.
Oh or it could be Grice-Mullen.Once he’s fully cleared waivers and can sign with any CFL team.
This post originated I think because of a thread on ourbombers.com started by MIke how he heard something from a player. There's a ton of speculation as to who this could be. I don't think this could be someone in an NFL camp as the first round of cuts don't begin until Aug 31, there there is the 10 day waiver period, which takes you into the middle of September almost. Ryan is headed for surgery and not likely to play anytime in the next 2 months. A CFL experienced free agent you would think probably have been in Wpg and added to the practice roster unless there was some visa or other personal issue and the player couldn't get here right away. Anyway, looking at the free agent list under the players tab, none of the listed FA receivers stand out. That makes me think that a trade is more likely in the works. Why hasn't the trade been made? Short week for the bombers to prepare for MTL and injury issues means that they didn't have enough time to get a new player up to speed to play vs MTL and they couldn't afford to lose a player off the roster this week. I think the trigger on a trade may be pulled in the next day or 2 after tonights game, and likely with a western conference team. As I had posted earlier, Clermont may be a good short term option considering his familiarity with Buck from his BC days and with LaPo and Jyles in Sask last year. This would allow Sask to get Sisco on the field on special teams and play a few snaps on offence per game. And of course BC and Edm are struggling and could look to shake up the roster. Edm could use some help on defence, but I don't see anyone on their roster that I would be interested in trading one of the bomber players for. Paris Jackson is the obvious BC player being thrown out there, but he has seemed to come around a bit the last game or 2 with BC so maybe they aren't as anxious to unload him. Since the speculation was a receiver, I don't really see another one ready to play. Akeem Foster I'm sure they will hold on to and he's too raw to probably have any impact this year. And I know he's listed at RB or FB, but I doubt Orville Lee would be on the move either. I'm on a Grice-Mullen free diet and I hope to stay that way. He seemed ok on returns last year but I didn't care for him as a receiver. Calgary could be an option too as they have a glut of receivers on the roster. Rambo/Lewis/Bryant/Franklin will probably stick for Calgary, as will the new kid Murphy, and I don't think Jabari Arthur is on his way back. Thelwell probably not, but I would not discount PK Sam. He's had success in Toronto, be it a couple years ago, hasn't really stood out in Calgary and has fallen out of the receiver rotation, and calgary could look to dump his salary off the books. Could be a cheap pick up too.
The subject says it all, speculative at best, our receivers are under the gun and have been all week as LaPo has been on a rampage at practice all week, i will add the whole team is under the gun as LaPo has been on the whole team about the little mistakes that we have been making for a couple weeks now. I don't know how many times the offense went over snap count drills to correct offsides during practice and pass catching drills that resembled training camp all over.
I cannot see any changes to receiver at this point but with TJH out apparently (as rumoured) for 4-6 weeks we may just need an experienced playmaker as the rumor goes. I don't know if TJH can be replaced for that long with any other receiver on our roster unless a player like Davis shows he can be a reliable target (as he has yet to do), tonights game will go a long way when it comes to this rumor if it is in fact true.
I guess we will see how reliable these sources really are, i learned my lesson listening to so called reliable reports and that includes the media. As for Titus Ryan the initial report was a broken or dislocated something or other and his healing time frame was 4-5 weeks and that was what? 3-4 weeks ago and now it's he needs surgery so i'll believe nothing when it comes to Ryan until either he is here and put on IR or playing, otherwise his name should not even come up again as long as he is not even a name on the roster, i'll also note i don't believe a word anyone from OB says, seems they just make things up on the fly anyways as was the case with the Dorian Smith Injury, it was OB that stated he was heading on the 9 game IR, i made the mistake of posting that and what happened? we all know the answer to that!!
And honestly anyone can say they heard a rumor from a reliable source and we can all speculate and throw names around, but the fact is (and again i learned my lesson) i like the thought of making a move for an experienced receiver that could improve us immediately, but until this player is signed and listed on the roster than this is nothing but a rumor and we can speculate all we want and until that happens i think this subject is DEAD.

But you never know, the Cats traded Getzlaf and Holmes to Saskatchewan for Jason Armstead.
Whatever you think of Taman, Miller would have to approve any trade. There is a greater chance of it snowing tomorrow than this trade happening.
......looks like there's about as much chance of snow in the forecast as bringing in a new receiver...LaPo says we are going to stick with the talented group we have.....no need to change the receiving corps right now...Although we did bring in a couple of imports at other positions (auditioning for 2011) it wasn't anything dramatic....Ah yes 'speculation' takes another hit :lol:
Don't despair pappa, when TJH and Ryan are back (probably next year though) the receiving corps will look miles ahead of where it is now.
It really is a shame about TJH. . . the kid looked early to me like he had "rookie of the year' written all over him.
