So what happens regarding Free Agency?

So this is a no year, so do they push back Free agency back 1 year or carry on like the season happened. Do all contracts move back a year !??

Patience ... the CFL & CFLPA have already reached, or will reach, some sort of agreement ... if not, some player that wants to be a free agent will file suit and the courts will decide ... I expect an agreement will be reached ...

I am pretty impressed so far with the signings. A lot of good core player have extended. I will actually be surprized if we do not go into the 2021 season with almost the same line-up we would have had for 2020.

Yes they appear to be sticking around. The Shaq Evans signing was big as was the two Canadians up front.

Does anybody know who’s all free agents?

Fajardo has signed an extension. I know the Riders wanted a longer deal (I had heard 4 years) at the end of 2019 but Fajardo wanted a shorter one to give him the shot at an NFL tryout if it came along because he felt he might be too old after a long term deal. Does this indicate that we are likely going to see him here for a longer period. I would love to see that. Not only is he an elite QB, he is a wonderful ambassador for the team and I have not heard of many that don't really like him. Even though we have had some great QB's over the past decades, they have not all been accepted and loved as individuals as Cody has.

Yeh, I think Cody is definitely a great fit with the Riders however I can see plenty
talent and security in the other QB's signed by the Riders.

Who will the riders get on the defence line now ?

Looks like they have brought in a ton of competition. There are some guys with impressive college stats but that may not always pan out. Hopefully they have a replacement out of that. If not looks like there are some decent players on FA. Maybe they bring back Micah Johnson?

So the Riders sign Johnson and let Hughes go....again the Riders seem to always settle for the second best!!
IMO letting Hughes go was a mistake

Also not signing Cameron Judge is another colossal mistake......UNBELIEVEABLE!!!

Do you blame them? They had a need at linebacker and decided to go with Larry Dean who is no slouch while Cameron Judge pursued NFL opportunities. They thought he had a legitimate shot and made moves elsewhere. Only so much money to go around.

You make it sound like they cut him. They needed to make decisions going into free agency. They have Teitz and picked up another good Canadian. They weren’t going to pay him 200k…only Toronto was going to do that with this magical cap space they’ve found (thinking they are not spending to minimum). Further…judge was not a Regina fan. He didn’t overly like it. Beyond that, he is involved in movies, so Toronto or BC was always a suspected landing spot for him in time if he stuck around the CFL. The brass did what they could to retain him…wasn’t happening.

I agree, you could sense that he never really wanted to play here. Some people just simply don’t like small cities.

He is a solid player with the right passport. Just wasn’t in the cards to bring him back.
The Riders still made some solid moves and still kept their defensive backfield in tact. A solid secondary can mask any drop they have up front. Theyve made some solid moves too. Time to see what the scouts did during covid

all the Larry Deans and Micah Johnsons in the world won't make you for losing Judge...
