Sick of people dissing the CFL

Thanks tigger. I guess in the long run we really need to be sure any league of gridiron in S Ont is able to compete with the Blue Jays somewhat. Right now even the "mighty" NFL and "Bills in Toronto series" on the "huge" American networks is no match with the Blue Jays in late summer/fall. That's a concern for any gridiron fan. Yes, the Argos are a bit more like a "cottage gridiron fan base" here but still, the more success for football, the better agains't the main rival, baseball. The NFL only knows too well which cities are real baseball cities where they have to compete. Hey, the Pats have been very successful winning many SB"s and play in a large stadium, more state of the art then Fenway, but let's face it, the Red Sox are most likely on top in terms of the sports world in Boston in New England, regardless.

If the Pats weren't able to get an owner like Kraft and get that new stadium deal, yikes, even with their success, I'm not sure. Look how long it's taken the 49'ers to get a true football stadium. And Joe Montana? And those SB's? The NFL knows their competion, MLB and probably NCAA. The CFL is more like a little buddy to them, thank goodness.

And my favourite NFL team are very lucky to be getting out of the obsolete marshmellow. The Twins left a while ago. Again, NFL and Vikes lucky, playing just some 8 or so home games a year. Not bad for getting a very expensive stadium.

NFL is in very tough agains't MLB.

The Argos have made a good decision to get out of Toronto proper and to the North into the suburb Region. Wherever they choose to build they will have both the York and Durham regions especially. Similar to Hamilton they will have their own fan base Nort of the city of Toronto and even Spreding further North like Hamilton is spreading themselves from not just Hamilton but to surrounding communities.
Times have changed and the burbs are plenty big enough to support their own team and fans will more likely look to go to a game in the Suburbs to the North where they live then to make the drive into the city.
There may or may not be a NHL team or Arena coming to Markham but it has been recognized that the area will support their own teams without the help of the Toronto proper. Different than Hamilton for the NHL there is a lot more communities between Toronto’ Northern Burbs to the next closest NHL teams in Montreal and Ottawa. Where as Hamilton has Detriot to the south. Toronto city to the North and Buff to the east
