Should the MLB be allowed a Microphone in his Helmet?

The NFL has been doing it for years. I don’t understand why defenses still use signals.

Guess the owners are cheap … there is no logical reason.

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the title of the thread .

I didn’t know Friends actor Matt LeBlanc wore a helmet?

The truth is, the OP doesn’t know what he’s talking about. In both leagues QBs can have speakers in the helmets. in the NFL, usually one of the linebackers can as well. There are no mics allowed in helmets, commuication is one-way only.

Also, since the topic is in CFL Talk, I assumed he meant middle linebacker in CFL. :woman_shrugging:

I would do both the MLB and the Safety…front 7 and coverage…

In this day and age it can’t be that expensive…and it’s not like they are not reusable.

Try to read between the lines as i think most of us assumed he meant speaker. And yes we do have mics in helmets or have you never heard the mic’d up segment? Nobody said it was two way communication or even implied it for either example.

If you don’t know what MLB means, you’re not a true football fan.

Thank you! Glad to see someone gets it.

Then you’re not a true football fan.

That’s a pretty blanket statement to alienate potential fans of the game.

If these speakers are as good as the refs’ mics, then don’t hold out any hope that they can hear anything clearly, radio interference or no radio interference.

You often see the QBs holding their hands to their ears to hear. I’d be curious to know how often they don’t actually hear the playcall.

He’s holding it to his ear to muffle out the crowd noise. NFL, QBs do it too.

So what about soccer players having a speaker (ear bud) and the coach telling them which way to run?

 :joy: :joy:

Okay CC88 whatever you say there bucko !!! A statement like that coming from a guy as knowledgeable as you really means a lot to me

why are you splaining to me when I was the one who pointed it out? FFS

also if you don’t know the difference between a mic and a speaker, you aren’t a super true football fan.
