Should horns be banned?

I understand, but the combination works for me…

Oski Wee Whip,

I wholeheartedly agree. There’s nothing wrong with them as long as the people using the horns respect the people around them.

As a side note, I wasn’t allowed to bring in my flag last year because apparently there were a lot of complaints about people with flags misusing them. (Poking people or taunting others with them etc) Needless to say, I told the security guys to let me in and if I act like a jerk then toss me. But don’t punish me for trying to cheer on my team. The same applies to the horns.

If someone’s a jerk with their horn then toss them. If not, let them have their fun.

so the verdict is the same as always then?

it's not the object in question thats the problem, its the a$$hole using it...

After Moscas speech on protocal why not all come in suites and ties . Forget about Cheering, high 5ing So stay home

I think anyone who cannot properly spell the greatest football stadium in Canada (IVOR WYNNE, not iver wynne), should have thier picture taken, banned for life and escorted down the QEW to the skighdome!

Yes.

Should they really ban horns and flags? What’s next? Should they stop selling beer because a jerk can spill it on you? Or maybe we shouldn’t let people in if they have hands because, gee, they MIGHT make a fist and punch someone…

It’s all about how you act. If you’re respectful of others then you should be allowed to support your team in any way you like.

Those plastic horns are annoying and are exclusive to the CFL (I think)... I bought a green one in 1980 @ Lansdowne (BTW...the Cats won 13-3) and blew it the whole night... the game was so frickin' boring!

I can only say that to blow on one for the course of an entire game; you'll get what's coming to you! The worst case of cracked lips you've ever had!

Silver lining... a big drool pool forms when you blow on those things for 3 hours! My pool landed on a drunken Rough Rider (future Senator) fan's shoulder!!!

Ahhhh, memories! Don't ban 'em!!!

This is how the thread seemed to be going.

No loud music.
Forget the canned noise.
No horns allowed.
No yelling.
Please remain in your seat at ALL times.
No TD celebrations.

Folks, you’re at a football game. Relax and enjoy yourself!

Am I that transparent? I’ve seen better days, Mark. Thanks for asking.

I also had the “pleasure” of having the world’s most annoying people sitting in front of me last season and all I heard was that stupid horn.

Man it's Time get a Megaphone
I know I am loud without one ...With one Man
do I Dare to dream

They should be banned if the person is behind you. If they are further back or further down in front thats okay.

I love those horns but the trouble is that too many parents hand them to their kids to amuse themselves with.....and that's where you get the kids blowing them in people's ears.....

.....it's annoying when 7-10 year olds get ahold of them....

It seems to me they were used right in the old days but not now..... :frowning:

Rogers Center, just allowed Flags on Poles back, I mean flags on horns back. Nothing wrong with Air horns, just as long as you blow them in the air, not in someones ear  It might drown out Jason :rockin:

I DONT KNOW WHAT WE’RE YELLING ABOUT!!

Cheering loudly and boo-ing loudly
serve a purpose at football games.

Other than amusing the hornblowers,
horns serve no defined purpose

unless it is simply to annoy the fans
who unfortunately happened to sit nearby.

Wrong, the last plastic horn I bought was in the early 80’s (surely the old days), and I got angry and threw it on the field during a game. Even then I knew that isn’t how it was supposed to be used, so I never bought another.

I like horns, flags, and loud makers of all sorts. Just keep your head about you when using it. IF i dont go deff, AND I can see the game, I'm happy to blow my air horn along side of you(and up and away from).

There are too many sick people in this crowd. :x

I guess i should have singled out moose horns. How can anyone possibly like listening to those stupid things. If you want to make noise, fine, but don't bring something that is designed to sound like a moose in heat.

I often bring a bugle to games, and up close it can be very loud. I try to use discretion by blowind it on the walkways travelling to bathroom and snackbreaks. I also never blow it without reason or in cadence with the flow of crowd noise. With respect for others I feel I add to the hometown atmosphere, and have had one complaint in 15 yrs. That was at the SkyDome.
