Stamps tickets aren't cheaper than last year, I think they're more ... but there was a deal (which I took) where you could pay the same price each year if you signed up for 3 years of tickets. Still, that means nothing for buying new season's tickets ...
Whats Edmonton's numbers?
that is a good deal Kev, I wish all teams had it, the blue used to but alas no longer for now atleast.
but the stamps getting that many more season tickets already(3.5K more) very impressive with still what 2-3 weeks to sell another few hundred.
Now aslong as Edmonton hasn't taken a huge hit in their season ticket numbers it looks like the CFL as a whole will have alot more season tickets.
Last year between 8 teams it was:
2006:(using numbers from this thread)
-145K total season ticket packes, 18.125K per team.
2007:(using old numbers for some teams)(6 teams, Ham and esks unknown)
- BC: 20K, CGY 22K, WPG 16K(early may), SSK 13K, MTL 17.5K, TO 16K.
total: 104.5K - 17.41K with many numbers being way off(Winnipeg and SSK) Edmonton and Hamilton should stay near the same because low ticket prices and improving teams.
I'm thinking the total for 8 teams in 2007 will be: 150K(+/- 2K) or 18.75K per team.
in 2008 add an extra 3K to that(thanks to MTL)
Bombers are now past 17.1K pretty good as this year the blue don't have the grey cup game to offer.
Nice job in Winnipeg. There does not seem to be much new season ticket info being released. So far things look roughly something like this?
Calgary 22,000
B.C. 21,000
Montreal 17,400
Winnipeg 17,100
Hamilton 15,000
Toronto 14,000
Saskatchewan 13,000
Edmonton ??????
Some of these numbers are quite old now....anyone have any new ones?
The Bombers have sold a total of 17,127 season tickets to date.
any new updates on the numbers
I think last year Hamilton had 17,000+. There might be a slight dropoff this year with fans waiting to see some measure of improvement on the field after two poor seasons.
The preseason game was the most sparsely attended in the Bob Young era with an announced crowd of 20,153 but far less in attandance.
I think the reason for the low attendance has more to do with the fact that it was a preseason game. Previous seasons have had pre-season attendance at around 25,000, but have all been against the Argonauts. 20K for a pre-season game against Winnipeg is about what you would expect.
And there were around 20,000 at the game. Some areas were sparse, while others (like mine) were packed tight. Similar to the crowd conditions in the days when the Cats averaged 20K.
A lot of people left very early, though, like in the third quarter when the teams started playing their third- and fourth-string players.
