I received the email this morning asking what I want to do with my season seat money credit. I am torn .
1-My spouse wants the money back, saying, if they do run a normal season next year we'll renew then or use the money to buy tickets anyways later.
2-If the season is cancelled again and the league goes bankrupt we might be at risk of loosing our money.
3- There were many (many) ticket promotions last year that were as good of a deal ( sometimes better) then our season seat deal.
I know the best thing for the league is to let them keep our credit. I'm just curious what people are thinking.
Hey @GiasoneItaliano; if you would, could you delay that decision by about a week? We'll have something shortly for you to think over that might help your decision making process.

Honestly if there was a some sort of guarantee that my money would be safe , in the event the league went bankrupt or cancelled next season, I would be fine just leaving my money with the team.

Yeah. We’ll see. I don’t think even Bob Young can predict the future. I know that when games are allowed to have fans again I will be there, it’s just do I want my money in my own hands until this is all sorted. One reason I might keep my renewal money with the team is that if they are allowed to run games at a lower capacity next year I am sure Season Seat holders will get first dibs.

I believe they need to set up a trust account of some sort that houses the money we have on credit plus the money they’ll ask for related to Grey Cup 2021. I too think 2021 is a pipe dream (hope I’m wrong). The league needs to be forthright with plans for a full season, delayed season, cancelled season with and without fans, so we can all make an informed decision. Something that should have been communicated months ago about 2020. They need to do this before asking us to make a decision about more money going to teams. Even in past years when the Cats looked like they may fold, there was always the league in the wings to help out.(like Montreal last season) so I never felt like I would be out money. The possibility of the entire league folding changes that feeling. I’ve been through corporate bankruptcies and I don’t think our money would be refunded. We are unsecured creditors.

I’ve taken the plunge and will leave my STs payment with the club for a 2021 credit. A small gesture for two seats, but every little bit helps, I suppose. Of course, that’s money that will not be received by the club next year.
