Edinboro assistant football coach hired by CFL team

Edinboro offensive coordinator Doug Sams has been hired by the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Sams will serve as the team's quarterbacks coach. It's his fourth turn with a CFL team.

Scoop?

Has this signing been posted reported in the Canadian media
or even on this official site by the team or another poster, JFL?

If not the writer of article in this U.S newspaper
broke this story and therfore has the scoop on it.

Note the date:

Old news Ron

That date explains why this signing was only news to me and not everyone else.

Jan 25th was the first day of the week I spent in the Dominican Republic.

I wasn't on ticats.ca or reading newspapers from home that whole week.

Ron Don’t try and explain yourself, we eat our own on this site.

You've got that right, wildcat!

Fortunately, one of the real barracuda who lurk around on this forum didn't attack me.

I was only punished with a couple bruises for being so out of touch and no flesh wounds.

I didn’t know this.

I knew it, but enjoyed hearing it again.

I wish I could go back and edit my post to make it say mean jerky things.
I feel like I let everybody down.
I'll try harder next time.

I think that part of the reason that people missed this in the original release is because it was announced at the same time as the hiring of Copeland. Many of us focussed on Copeland and the other two coaches that were hired got lost in the shuffle.

The Tiger Cats hired some guy named Copeland? Jerome? :? :o

No, Aaron. Great American composer. Listen to Rodeo or Appalachian Spring or perhaps best for users of this board, Fanfare for the Common Man.

That's right, Mark. He also wrote Clarinet Concerto (commissioned by Benny Goodman) and at least

30 other scores.

The man was brilliant, but alas, his work would never "score" at a Ticat game.

Oh, so it was Aaron Copeland. He's a great American music composer and he coaches football, too? Amazing!

The Tiger Cats should get the Burlington Teen Tour band to play some of his compositions at half time shows.

I love that idea Ron, but I doubt that fans would support it. Other great football coaches/music composers

were Puccini, Bizet, et al. Problem is, the heroine always dies at the end from consumption.

Now that vaccinations programs have almost eradicated the disease, rocky123,
Aaron Copeland could change the ending to fit the typical story line of today .

Works for me!!

I thought that this is what happened to the guys in the "all you can eat" seats.
