Scheduling (disappointed)

You guys should have loaded up on Sunday games instead of Saturdays. I love college football and the CFL.

I guess so because there’s no more Sunday games on the schedule until the Grey Cup!

I just find it hard to believe NFL viewership > college viewership. I’m glued to the TV on Saturdays

Saturday morning cartoons in the 60’s kept me glued to the TV until mom punted us outside to get some fresh air.

This sucks. I really got use to seeing game(s) on Sunday.

After the Raiders/Panthers game I want to see some CFL action in the evening hours.

I totally cannot believe more people watch the NFL than the NCAA

You live in Alabama - spoken like many a homer in chicken-fried SEC country, as if fried is the only way to enjoy food

Did you just wake up in 2024 from your slumber for decades? There’s more to life than Alabama there buster. Get over yourself.

could i add to the minority…the CFL part only…not big on US college, or NFL…just don’t care

EZ…help me understand please. I am an avid football fan. And, I watch every CFL game unless conflicting schedule. But, I can’t get very interested in a game that has no impact on my team or the standings. I need to “cheer” for somebody, or I may fall asleep. Is the interest in US college football due to gambling, or what? Why would I care which US college wins, or NFL team for that matter? Unless boredom takes over, which is rare because I have a busy schedule, I rarely look at the NFL.

Not gambling to me. I have about 10 NCAA teams I like to watch. That includes small college football schools that stream their games online only

As far as the NFL is concerned, I watch the Raiders only.

On Saturdays I have a split-screen monitor watching multiple games at the same time – comparable to being at a sports bar with multiple games on the various TV sets

Well at least I agree with you here. The Raiders still have a long way to go. I can’t see the organization improving much under Mark Davis either.

The CFL has Sunday games in much of the summer through August. Be around next year for them then and wake up already.

It’s been this way for about a decade, for the CFL does not want to go up against the NFL any more except for the Grey Cup.

I’m with you for the sake of Sundays in November, when already at 1PM on Sundays there are duds for NFL games, but the CFL playoffs have already started by then and unlike you, I am not a college football fan any more but now that they are paying the players and then some more coming, maybe in a few years once the SEC and Big Ten and perhaps 40 teams have their own College Super League separate from the corrupt NCAA.

So in other words you don’t watch the NFL at all .

This is hardly unusual in the American South, as I learned when I lived in Atlanta.

It’s changed somewhat to more interest in the NFL since 2000 and especially after Michael Vick hit town, but NCAA Pro Football is their top game and their focus is Saturdays, especially on SEC football.

Decades ago in the NFL, Atlanta was in the NFC West, which I thought was odd until after I lived in the South, when I realized that most people would not take interest in games on Sunday afternoons if at all, for they are still in church or at associated events.

And so the Atlanta Falcons in the eastern time zone played numerous games late on Sundays on the west coast schedule.

Many people in the American South, especially in states without NFL teams like Alabama and Mississippi, have not changed. They make themselves known too often too and stand out from most of the country in this regard.

I still think it’s Bell’s decision to move the CFL playoffs to Saturdays (protecting their NFL investment).

You’re also putting them against hockey which has been a Saturday staple for Canadians.

The NFL is just that , a tv product for most Canadians.

False.

When the Ohio high school and NCAA seasons begin to wind down I’ll watch NFL games more often.

I just find it hard to believe. From a college student perspective I noticed everyone hits the library on a Sunday because they’re out partying and watching college ball the night before.

I guess as the ratings data comes in (privately held data involving advertising dollars) we’ll know if avoiding Sundays was a good decision when the 2025 schedule comes about
