:wink: :lol: :wink:Well, a deserving ending to the type of season it has been. Injuries aside, Jim Popp should take a long long look in the mirror this off season. He is mostly responsible for this fiasco of a 2015 season.
And Jim one last thing....YOU ARE NOT A HEAD COACH! Read it, learn it and live it!
A good coach makes the difference by calling the right play and making the right challenge. If Popp challenges that fumble early in the game and wins, the Als win. The play was so close, it deserved a try. Instead, the Als lose a game they should have won.
Their only win on the road too. The only positives in this game for me were Bowman winning the Sack crown and Sutton winning the rushing titled. Both so well deserved.
The young QB I saw this afternoon was very different as compared to his early season play. I believe Bridge made good use of the opportunities provided as a practice player and, the coaching he has had to date. He impressed with his poise and confidence as a starting QB. He began the afternoon with a short passing game, completing 9 of 10 passing attempts which set up the first touchdown the team acquired early in the game. He followed this with a long pass to Cunningham, coming after he avoided the Green rush. He lived up to his ability as a QB who is tough to bring down and, someone with a noted ability to escape defenders. His NFL file noted this, along with his arm strength although, this file also referred to him as a less than accurate passer. His pass completion % was 70 this afternoon and, he showed this through the long and short game. He passed for 200 yds + this afternoon and, demonstrated that he will be a contender for a QB position with the Als in 2016.
I thought 1st round draft choices Chris Ackie and Jacob Ruby had very good games.
As for Bridge, he certainly looked like a QB who can be developed. Although I probably said the same thing about Troy Smith, Crompton, Marsh, and Cato.
The most glaring weakness was the play of our DBs. Hefney has been missed, but we definitely have to find at least a couple of DBs.
Up 24-6 to start the 4th quarter. Last place Riders make an adjustment and low and behold, tie the game and go into OT.
What do the Riders do, march down the filed aided with another costly penalty and score a TD to win the game.
Yes the 3-15 Riders, come back and win. Of the three wins, two came at the expense of Popp and his team.
He's the best option as HC?!!
Personally I have seen enough of Popp both as a HC and a GM.

Bridge throws oddly. He passes like someone whose arm does not have a full range of motion. Evidently, nobody has wanted to or been able to change that technique. Could not hurt to develop some touch either. Right now, I would consider him more in the category of "better than anybody else we can get" rather than "potential starter".
J'ai passé une très belle journée hier même si la fin de partie m'a grandement déçu.
Entrée sur le terrain à 11h30, discussions avec Luc Brodeur-Jourdain, Avon Cobourne, Nik Lewis, passage dans le casque gonflé, rencontre avec Matthieu Proulx, Bruno Heppell et Didier Orméjuste, un bye-bye à Billy Parker pour qu'il remarque mon chandail à son nom, jasette avec Éric Deslauriers (joyeux personnage, pas à dire!), visite du vestiaire des cheerleaders (on était les premiers hommes à visiter leur vestiaire, selon Annie), une causette de 15 minutes avec Mark Weightman (qui n'a pas visité le vestiaire des cheerleaders en 20 ans avec les StallOuettes), salutations à Kevin Glenn, rencontre de mon vieux pote Chab qui travaille avec l'équipe de production, hymne national sur les lignes de côté, bouffe et bière fournie avec hôtesse, c'était vraiment super! Un gros merci à Telus, particulièrement Laurence et Anthony pour une journée inoubliable!
Côté football, cette partie sans attentes a montré que Hoffman et Cunningham seront des partants la saison prochaine. Giguère a également fait plusieurs jeux où il a dû s'ajuster à la passe de Bridge pour la compléter. Sutton a été fidèle à lui-même. Logan a eu une soirée difficile, mais on ne peut pas lui en vouloir car il n'avait pas de bloqueurs devant lui. Bridge n'a pas été intégralement mauvais, et n'eut été du fait que les Roughriders ont fait jouer Smith pour terminer la partie, il aurait probablement eu sa première victoire chez les pros. La défensive des Alouettes ne s'est pas ajustée au changement de quart et ils ont eu l'air royalement fou de se faire marcher sur le corps de cette façon. Une bonne leçon à retenir pour l'an prochain. Matte n'a manqué qu'une remise, ce qui est somme toute très bon. Je crois que si Luc Brodeur-Jourdain ne peut hélas pas revenir au poste l'an prochain, c'est lui qu'on verra comme centre.
Après la partie, j'ai pu jaser un peu avec Glenn, Jerald Brown, Stefan Logan, Tyrell Sutton, Tanner Marsh, mais surtout avec Billy Parker qui a signé le chandail de mon fils, que je portais. Parker est vraiment un chic type et il m'a sommé de lui faire savoir à chaque partie que j'irais voir. On suppose qu'il entend revenir, mais cette décision n'est pas totalement la sienne. Je crois que Marsh sait qu'il ne reviendra pas. C'est ce qui me semblait être la trame de fond de son amertume hier, même s'il la dissimulait assez bien. Après tout, ce sont Bridge et Boone qui se sont partagé les courts gains. Marsh demeure très affable avec les supporteurs et il apprécie ce contact.
