Game starts in less than an hour. Edmonton must win to keep slim playoff hopes alive and Saskatchewan needs the win pretty bad too in the race for second place in the West. I expect it to be very competitive.
Does anyone have a bead on local weather conditions?
Three doors close if when the Riders win tonight. The Stampeders are out of the playoffs, the Elks are out of the playoffs, and the Tiger Cats don’t cross over.
In looking at the standings this game isn’t potentially as critical for Saskatchewan as I initially thought I believe.
They are one point behind BC and winning today probably won’t matter if they are up by one point next week and lose to BC. Even if they are behind by one point next week and beat BC all they have to do is beat Calgary in their last game to finish 2nd. No chance of a tiebreaker unless there is another tie.
With 2 games left for the Bombers and BC and BC 4 points behind they can’t finish first as the Bombers have the season series as they have against all West teams. If Saskatchewan wins today they will be 3 points behind the Bombers and in theory could still finish first first by winning out and the Bombers losing out. Realistically that likely won’t happen though. If Saskatchewan loses today the Bombers clinch first.
