I wouldn't call it a nice try. Not much nice about that performance. I'd call it an ugly try.
I just donāt get why they even try that play in the first place?? Toronto had nothing going up to that point! Its the 1st quarter, close game, youāre deep in your own zone.
There was no need for that at all. The risk just wasnāt worth it! I understand it was a dropped pass but just attempting that play in that situation

Setta caught them sleeping that's why, and Gordon was WIDE OPEN for a 20-25 yard gain and would've kept the argo's D on the field.
Nice pass by Setta to a wide open Gordon, I couldn't believe he dropped the ball, you couldn't even excuse him for being a defensive player, I mean he should have had the catch.
What is wrong with Setta and his kicking lately?? How I wish we had a young Paul Osbaldeston again, hopefully Setta can correct whatever is going on and raise his performance level again.
The way the CFL settles tie games is bush. Never very exciting and puts the team that has the ball 2nd in the best position.
Young Ozzy had some pretty inconsistent years before becoming Mr. Automatic in the second half of his career. He got better as time went on. Good thing the team didnāt give up on him in the early years.

At the very least, they shouldnāt start in FG rangeā¦once the TCās missed, it was game overā¦at least make the offense move the ball into fg rangeā¦
It was maddening how in the second half they completely go away from how they were moving the ball with 14 or so first downs in the first half. Taking what you can get, short yard routes, but still getting the first down. Then you start to see crazy long passes, trick plays and just ignoring cobb (who was actually getting some decent yardage on his carries at first, unlike last game).
The only time we give it to cobb is 2nd and 10, and that 2nd and 30 or whatever it was after the big loss.
Then with 2 mins left they suddenly go back to that short yardage passing and march down the field.
Youre having trouble getting the offense going in the 2nd half and you decide to try more complex plays??
Yea i agree maybe each team starts on the Centre line that way they would have to make a 1st down or 2
I have to agree with this thread title. Execution was poor but that is secondary. You don't fake a punt on your own thirty yard line. If Gordon caught it, maybe I would call it a gutsy call, but he didn't catch it. There is always a chance that something will go wrong and it went wrong big time.
The QB merry-go-round has to stop. Grow a set Marcel and name a starter and stick with it. Quit trying to appease the other guy by giving him some token reps and disrupting the starter's rhythm. Your running back averaged 9 yards per carry, give him the damn ball. Throw the trick goochie gadja plays out the window too. That hook and ladder was a disgrace.
Horrible game plan. Horrible decisions.
Neither team deserved to win that game. And it was boring.

The defense was good on pass defense but the Argos are so stupid and stopped running the ball up the gut.
The defense was holding Robertson on the stretch plays but up the middle is where he gained a ton of yards.
Normally, we make the right half time adjustments. Tonite we didn't. We couldn't move the ball at all in the second half.
Very boring game. Cats didn't have the heart out there tonite. They tried but I question how hard they did.
