Rumour - Norwood released

Maybe they should have hung on to Norwood and then offered him to the Riders in a trade for the Number 1 pick in the draft.

Yeah. The Riders would be dying to give up the top pick for a guy coming off a knee injury

The reports related to Norwood's signing with the Riders are no longer "premature:"

All the best to Eric Norwood in Regina, he was a great player here in Hamilton with the Cats and I’m sure he’ll be just as competitive in Saskatchewan with the Riders when he is healthy and ready to play.

Thanks for giving us Ti-Cat fans many good memories on defence over the past few years.

A new era will start this season in Hamilton with many new players intermixed with a few vets all with new challenges and hopefully an new attitude to win and be number one this year in the East!!

GO CATS GO IN 2016!!!

I think that the Cats are expecting big things out of Adrian Tracy this season and are looking for him to take the next step up to a regular starting role bookending Chick on the D-Line. The team I've noticed has also used Tracy on several of their promo videos on the website. It would seem that Tracy is committed to the team and spent the off season here locally in Hamilton. I'm sorry to see Norwood go but I believe we will be just fine with Tracy stepping into his shoes this season on a regular basis. Barring injury it would appear that our starting D-Line is 3 quarters complete (Ends-Chick/Tracy..DT-Laurent) The only question mark is who will emerge to replace Bryan Hall at the other Tackle spot ?

Candidates currently on the roster would be Linden Gaydosh , Drake Nevis , Delano Johnson , Mike Atkinson ,Terry Redden. One of these five or perhaps somebody else not currently signed at the moment should complete our starting 4 on the Line this season.

Evan Gill will also compete for the starting DT spot vacated by Hall.

He signed for a year and an option which is generally a team option

“My former coaches and everybody else thought I wouldn’t play this year; that was the general consensus,? said Norwood, who was released by Hamilton on May 2. “But I had a great surgeon and, by the grace of God, my leg’s healing a whole lot better and faster than most people’s would.

“I’m grateful that I’m even in this position to sign with Saskatchewan.?

Norwood, who signed for a year and an option, is eager to play in another football-crazy city.
