The problem is that these complainers are all Pro Kelly and Bauer fans. The fans are all divided. Someone who is connected to another team would be best suited.
House. I don’t think that is what most posters have in mind LOL ! I agree with you 100 percent that this is a Kelly fan/non fan issue and placing someone who is trying to “control the message” is not a good idea. It won’t go away till Kelly is let go. Like you say he is abrasive and proud of it.
Also nothing prevents the posters from starting “football” discussions. If a thread titled article X on Kelly and you expect people not to write about Kelly well you know
I Think the mods are all very good here. I think the problem is that some of the members think that Trolling means writing negative comments and a healthy forum should have various view points expressed without cursing or personal attacks. cfl.ca is one of he healtyest moderated forums out there. I would like to see a flag next to minors, so that we know we are dealing with a young person and have the ability to use more multimedia and less pruning both as far as moderators, they are exceptional.
I respect that Pigseye except the last part Moderating is not RUNNING THEIR SITE… or censorship or taking sides or deleting others opinions… If that’s what your looking for your not looking for a moderator, your looking to censor people.
As far as finding someone who is a Bomber fan and that is a regular. It would be tough finding one that does not have a strong opinion of Kelly one way or another.
What I am trying to say is that no Bomber fan presently could be impartial. HfxTc is right. This has been an issue about Kelly. The camps are divided. There are those who would follow Kelly anywhere. Others can’t stand him for obvious reasons. The pro Kelly fans are just like him. They don’t want health discussion on Kelly’s incompetance. It’s like a religion to them. Kelly’s message is to contol the message. Cut off any debate that concerns Kelly and all will be well. The same approach that various politicians over the years employed. Such as Stalin. Just look what is going on now. The pro Kelly fans are dumping all over the press and blaming the sportswriters for all the problems. The same can be said on this forum. Many are following Kelly and blaming the posts on these threads for the miserable lives they are experiencing due too the past Bomber season. Yes. It is best if some other fan from another team be the Mod. You should be smarter and realize that nobody on the Bomber forum would be impartial.

But, this is supposed to be the one place where the koolaid drinkers can come and get away from the onslaught of negative Kelly rhetoric. That should be on the main board, not laced in here by trolls.
I don’t think that would be an issue if you find the right person. I’m a mod at a Trek message board and we basically had it drilled into us by the forum owner that we had to put our own opinions aside and make judgements based on the Code of Conduct (and trust me, that can be difficult when you’re dealing with a bunch of Trekkies arguing canon ).
I can’t remember the registration process when I signed up, but has admin tried adding a question to the registration process? At the aforementioned Trek site I’m at our admin added a “what is 2+2” question (yes I know that may be difficult for some fans who won’t be named ) to the registration process and that seemed to take care of spambots but, of course, it doesn’t stop the spammers who are real people.
