Sadly, the "free prize" isn't what it used to be....

I noticed this decades ago as a kid, and well, that was an early lesson on many fronts about our "economy" and the like.

When I as a kid they used to have awesome prizes in the big boxes of 29 cent pink popcorn. Don’t know if anyone else remembers that. My cousins from Chicago used to love it and buy a ton when they visited because they didn’t have it in the states.

If it was meaningless, they wouldn’t stay down there. Most will find the pay bump quite meaningful, I would think.

Plus it gives opportunities for guys to be ready to step up in case of injuries. Those opportunities and a chance to showcase are not to be taken lightly.
