VANCOUVER — Nathan Rourke is set to make his return to the field this weekend when the BC Lions head to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers, the team announced via. their Twitter account on Tuesday.
Awesome news, but It’s bittersweet as he will be off to the NFL. Finally get an exciting CDN QB, too bad B.C.’s great new owner couldn’t pay him 600k +next year to entice him to stick aroundfor at least one more season…
I respectfully doubt your skeptical view. He is a fantastic pivot, but, Rourke hasn't proved he's NFL quality...yet. He has shown he can get hurt and miss most of a season. Only bottom-feeder NFL teams might be desperate enough to take a chance on him.
Better late than never. Rourke is the best thing to hit the CFL in a long time. Problem is, Adams is doing so well as his replacement and game ready. Rourke ain't. I would trust Adams over Rourke for the playoffs unless Rourke puts on a clinical display is the season finale.
I was wondering if staying another year in the CFL, playing a full season, would yield Rourke a better NFL contract, proving not only that the numbers he put up this season are no fluke and that he is not injury prone.
I see what they did there. If you look closely you'll see that the Lions used a 'Foot Double' to make Rourke LOOK like he's fully recovered and ready to play.
hah. bc lions hired a foot model. i thought i saw some photoshop work there lol
also what is it with dudes and womens feet? i swear every summer when i wear flip flops or sandals, some rando or two comments on my feet or my toes etc. good grief.
Verrrry Interesting ! Depending upon how Rourke performs in this final game against Winnipeg, the Bombers may not necessarily be hoisting the Cup this year! Perfect opponent to test out his foot and needed mobility. I would say the Lion fans have a lot to look forward to these next few weeks.
I agree, and we could enjoy him for at least one more season that way. Roster continuity is key to CFL success but difficult to do when the NFL swoops in an poaches any CFL standouts. Sadly, Winnipeg’s Dalton Schoen will likely be gone this off season too, unless he is still under rookie contract.
