cool story
Definitely. I hope some of the Bighill naysayers read this. If Rourke ID’s him as the toughest player he faced last year that’s something that has to be taken seriously.
naysayers? Biggie was the one guy i wish Lions kept. best linebacker in the CFL.
I have read many opinions on here about how he is too old and/or washed up. This is in spite of the fact that he won defensive MOP two seasons ago and played most of last year hurt and without his two wingers, being the other starting two linebackers. At least he has Wilson back this year. He is getting older of course but I think he could still play on any team in the CFL.
The guy is a beast... Every other team would love to have on the roster... Some fans that are b naysayers... Well they GO EXTREME to be different to prove their in their own mind greater than all football IQ... Nobody is capable of seeing the detail they alone see
I don't think it's his age or wear and tear that kept him from making it in the NFL. CFL football calls for a different type of linebacker from the NFL version.
With the emphasis on passing in the CFL the ideal LB tends to be i bit smaller and faster than those popular in the NFL. It isn't just the greater amount of passing, but the fact that it's done on a larger field that calls for more speed and agility, sometimes at the cost of power and strength. I'm not saying that Bighill isn't good enough to play in the NFL; I just think that NFL minds have a hard time with the fact that he doesn't fit their image of the "ideal" NFL LB.
That one two punch of Adam Bighill and Solomon Elimimian in BC was hard for any team to stop.
It’s leg length to height ratio that makes a good MLB. Stumpy legs are better than long legs and Bighill fits that mould.
Kinda funny but the guy I learned that from…Danny Bass, was a pretty good linebacker in his day and he fit that mould.
