REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American wide receiver Derel Walker, the team announced on Wednesday.
Commented a couple of seasons ago it appeared he had lost his mojo. I’m going to be surprised if this isn’t the end of the road for him.
Derel Walker and Duke Williams were a fantastic duo combined with the great Mike Reilly. Fun football.
A team can still claim him though correct, I can think of a few spots.
Though he was well loved as part of the 2015 Cup win in Edmonton, he really only had a couple 1000 yards seasons. Last year he was just dropping everything though, with barely a 40% reception rate.
Nothing against the guy but its a performance based business…
