Roughriders, CFL mourn the passing of Jim Hopson

REGINA — It is with great sadness that the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Canadian Football League mourn the loss of former player and team president Jim Hopson. Hopson passed away on April 2 at the age of 73, after a brave three-year battle with colon cancer.

Only had the pleasure of meeting the man once when he took the time to talk with myself and others after a game. Very kind and personable guy with a great sense of humour. Best President/CEO we’ve had to date, and I often thought he would’ve made a great CFL Commissioner.
My condolences to his family and friends.
