Riderville Power Play

Jim"Alexander Haig" Hopson declared after he had fired Roy Shivers: "I'm now in charge."

Roy refused to fire Danny Barrett, despite reports to the contrary. Hopson in hiring Tillman has what he wants.....someone who he believes he can control.

The head coach in Regina will be Kent Austin regardless of how well the team does for the rest of the year. The Board and Hopson don't want Danny Barrett.....he was Shiv's choice.

As for Roy showing up in another CFL team, don't count on it. He says he is retired and wants to spend time with his wife and grandchildren in Utah and Las Vegas. Last night he was an iterested spectator at the Cimarron-Memorial high school game against Coronado high schoolo in Las Vegas (38-14 for Cimarron). Incidently, Cimarron Memorial is coached by former CFL head coach Ron Smeltzer.

So, Roughriders.....look forward to yet more changes and upheaval in the coming months under the Hopson'Tillman regime. Good Luck....you're gonna need it

Gee mully thanks for keeping us up to date on the Shiv, i for one am glad he got his car started an left the country. RIP Shiv. You really make me laugh with this control theory it's completely ludicrous. Why is the Rider Nation going to need luck, do you know something we don't..... it's not likely that you do...... May i suggest you take your crystal ball in for repair it seems to be cracked and is clouding your perception of reality...............GO RIDERS GO

Shivers brought many good players to Regina. Some Rider fans forget some great wins such as knocking off the Esks in the playoffs a couple of years ago. The Riders have always been competitive with the best in the league under Roy's leadership. His personality, well, he tells it like he believes it is in strong words and that offended some people. I hope the riders win it all and Barrett gets credit. Shivers did well for the Riders. Thanks Roy and thanks Mully for the update. I do not believe Kent Austin is the man to take the Riders places. He does not appear to be a players coach and loyalty goes a long way in the CFL, particularly when things go bad for awhile. Coaches that can get their teams to stay together during adversity are the best.
Tillman knows his stuff but hope he evaluates Danny's results this year , then makes the decision on coach for next year. Riders rule!!!!!!
