Stevens definitely gives Riders a big upgrade on 3rd and short. The Riders were weak in that area last year. It would add even more if he could throw the football once in a while

Calgary led the CFL with 3rd & short conversions - 94.1 % (32 of 34). Riders were 6th converting 14 of 17 attempts. TiCats were #2, Wpg & Elks tied for #3, but Bombers had far more attempts so would have the edge there.
Stevens is regarded by many as the top guy. I’d have to agree though there are other good ones.

That’s okay, with VA at the helm now there will never be a third and short situation
