Ugly win but a win is a win

Came down to the final less two minutes and in those few seconds the Elk got outplayed and and out coached and the lucky lepricons smiled on my team of green… Life is grand

The headline is so weirdly written that it makes you think the game was in Edmonton and the Elks lost at home.

Anyway, didn’t watch it and it looks like it was time well slept.

Well if you recorded it fast forward to final 2 minutes and 30 seconds

It was a terrible game, the refs didn’t help either, some good plays called back on questionable calls.
The CFL refs need to lighten up and let things go unless it’s blatant.

This.

No more really needs to be said.

My girlfriend had enough by the end of the third, I watched up to the end and could not believe the last two minutes. Was the EE blunder in the end zone on the player,(s) on the field during the kickoff, the coaching staff, or all of the above. I thought the last minute was an episode of the twilight zone. Chris Jones must be having ulcers.

The Elkimos did what is known in the business as pulling a “Timmeh” .
Only in this league could you possibly lose or win a game by what we saw last night . Unbelievable .

Ending was great (unless you are an Elk fan)

that game was worse than a taxi squad vs scout team pick up game. pathetic considering we are on week 5 now.

How can a special teams coach not instruct Sims to run the ball out of the end zone? It’s like he went out there on the field with no direction. Where’s the coaching?

50/50 responsibility. Any ST coach worth his salt would have given the return man pretty clear instructions what to do in that situation. And any returner playing in the CFL should as a bare minimum know the CFL rules by this stage of the season without having to be told.

It is possible Edmonton might not win one game this year

CFL Breaking news… CFL Breaking news…

Wolf Blitzer reporting… “CFL Scientists have confirmed that American rookies who are given the responsibility of returning kickoffs and punts will continue to needlessly give up points when it matters the most as long as CFL coaches FORGET that American rookie returners don’t know any better.”

“In related CFL Breaking News… CNN reports that Chris Jones is out to lunch… again.”

(deep voice) “This is CFL Breaking News.”

I wouldn’t say that . They’ve got a great chance to win their next game against my stumbling , bumbling Puddy Cats . It might just be the game that finally , finally breaks that long winless streak that they have had at home . Trust me if anyone can lose to these Elkimos it is my toothless Cats this season . :flushed: :scream_cat:

Glenn Suitor says it’s a defensive battle. That’s being overly optimistic when it was actually a battle of the incompetent. Very underwhelming.

What a ridiculous rule explanation re being over the line of scrimmage by the QB If we follow that logic then, as a defensive player, you are not offside if one foot is behind the line of scrimmage. Your whole body can be across the line but as long as one foot is behind the line, you are not offside. Ridiculous. Command Center should be scrapped and let the Refs do their job.

Makes you wonder…? The game is tied with 1:04 to go… What the hell was said on the EE sidelines before the kick off? What a meltdown… Never saw this ending before.

As a referee in the U.S. that is the rule. So long as some part of the body is behind on on the L.O.S. it is legal. From the video replays however with the angle shown I thought he was over the line.
