Riders Fans - A class Act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A tip of the hat goes to all Riders fans who put team loyalties aside and gave Kerry Joseph a standing ovation for his community work in Saskatchewan last year and for his leadership on the field. It was the right thing to do and the response by Rider fans made me proud to be one!!!

:rockin:

Rider Pride - an example for all!!!!!!!!!!!

Most fans accross the league would have done the same if it were the same situation for there tam player. Good for the riders though. Kerrys recievers let him down today or his stats would have been better and they may have won. Kerry is a ture humanitarion who not only loves the game but care about people. Best of luck to him.

I am not sure I agree with you redstallion about other teams' fans giving a standing ovation for the league MVP who left his team for another. I'd like to hope you are right but I don't think so. Most other teams' fans would have booed, sad to say.
Good on Rider fans who showed tremendous class!

Pretty sure that almost every team would have shown the same class, It's not like there's anything special about rider fans that make them these magically harmonious souls

I guess we will never know for sure. I myself like to give credit to loyal fans of the game before putting them down without knowing what might have happened. Riders fans are very loyal to there players and for this I give them credit.

ya turkey it doesn't show that you think very highly about rider fans and yourself at all...

Yes it's awesome, but expectable and nothing other teams wouldn't have done, considering what he'd done for your team. And he didn't "leave" for another team, he was traded because they didn't want to pay him what he was worth (which was in line with what other QB's were making). At least that's how the news presents it.

This probably could've gone in the Rider's forum though, as it's specifically targeted at Rider's/fans.

Turkey, there is no need to even make a comparison based on conjecture. Leave it at "Riders fans showed class", period. Wait for an occasion for other fans to be in a similar situation and we'll see (or I'd at least bring past examples of similar situations but where lack of class was shown, if any, before making such a statement).

The Vancouver Canucks fans are the same ones as the Lions fans...Jovo left for more $$ - he still gets a great reception here when he returns and people love him and have continued to wear their JOVO jerseys. Pavel Bure - will always be a Canuck, despite wanting to be traded out. DD - this city still embraces him (even though it wasn't such a shocker to see him go...he was getting older and had injuries).

Blowing your own horn is getting old guys...at least when it's in the main forum. There's something to be said for being great, but even more for being humble.

Getting old is for sure. "Look at us...look at us... we're just as important as every other city and province." The salt of the earth routine gets old. There are just as many good, bad, ugly, polite, dumb, honest, mean people in Regina as everywhere else guys. The worst though, is when western people hate Toronto because they are bigger and command more attention in the media because the media gets paid by advertisers and advertisers want to advertise to the biggest market. Somehow that gets turned into Toronto people being arrogant snobs? Yet the Riders get 5 minutes of glory and they won't stop rubbing it in people's faces for years.

....^^, very true words from the previous two Lions fans, we'll be sure to direct RLR to these comments when he gets out of hand....

Its funny if the Lions fans come here and post about their team... its being passionate about their team-- when a Rider fan does it, they call it "blowing your own horn". Do some of you Lion fans really believe the pompousness of your posts? It was a class thing to do to give KJ TWO standing ovations yesterday. In the words of a wise friend...

'NUFF SAID!

It's Turkeybend, I don't know how he always gets everyone all worked up.

There are certain Lions fans who truly believe the stuff they post, then there are others (like me) that aren't always serious about it.

Problem is we aren't as psychotic as turkey and it sometimes gets taken too seriously. Maybe I'll try more exclamation marks.

LIONS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!TURKEY DROOOOLS!!!!!!

I kid.

For sure! The guy running nude across the field, the guy who gave the TSN camera the finger and the girl who was going to flash on live TV all just go the show how classy Rider fans are.

Umm, I can agree with the first two, but why on earth would you lump the last one, which was truly an attempted charitable act, in with them?

In the immortal words of Sgt. Hulka: Lighten up, Francis.

My PVR stopped recording before the flashee, so I don't get to judge how "classy" that would have been.

Coming from a Lion fan, who always defends certain other Lion fans who are the kings of blowing their own horn...it does get old...

Which was what I was saying the moment they made him take that cut. I said that it would come back to bite us in the ass later lol. We have been fortunate up until now that our team has been able to overcome the departure of Kerry though.

How classy were the Rider fans on Burris' return?

Just to throw a little fuel to the fire...
