REGINA — Trevor Harris has suffered what Saskatchewan Roughriders head coach Corey Mace called a moderate MCL sprain and will be moved to the team’s six-game injured list. CTV Regina’s Lee Jones shared the news on social media Sunday afternoon.
This is where the Riders find out if they can lean on their backup QB (Shea Patterson) and that new fangled ‘running game’ thingy they purchased in the off season. It’ll be Toronto they play next week which by sheer coincidence is also leaning on their backup QB (Cameron Dukes) and their running game.
This is going to make the upcoming Week 5 CFL VGCC Pool Picks more interesting than usual. I can’t wait to get 'em wrong again.
Cody F didn’t do so hot when thrown into his first game when Collaros went down back when. But he did pretty good after that for the rest of the season. We’ll see if the same thing can happen to Shea P.
He was on BC’s Practice Roster prior to that and he’s STILL playing professional baseball as we speak:
“Patterson was selected in the 39th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. Patterson signed a contract with the Texas Rangers that allowed him to play out his final two years of eligibility at Michigan, while not appearing in any minor-league games during that time. Patterson spent a few games with the Round Rock Express between the end of summer football and the start of fall camp in July 2018; taking hitting and fielding practice, and being in the dugout during the games. Patterson reported to 2019 minor league spring training, before attending spring football practice at Michigan. Patterson’s 2018 contract was for 6 years and requires him to spend one week per year with the Rangers to remain in good standing.”
I am rooting for Shea Patterson. The first I really remember of him as a pro was in the USFL playing for a horrible Michigan Panther team and literally running for his life every play. Really thought that he would be moving on and then, he signs with the Riders to be the short yardage QB. I admire his perseverance and hope he does well.
What does rider gm jeremy oday do after over paid Old Man Harris goes down once again to leg injury, he signs another reject from someone else’s scrapheap, this time Winnipeg Blue Bombers qb castoff eric barriere. Incompetence at the controls in Riderville.
Here we go again, the old over paid 1/2 Million Dollar Man injured once again with the roughriders of Saskatchewan. Shea Patterson is not the answer at the #1 qb position, another year lost, another year without a CFL Grey Cup Championship.
Saskatchewan, time to move on from qb Trevor Harris, oft injured with no return on his high priced player contract. On another note, Shea Patterson is not the answer at qb for the Roughriders along with the two unknowns behind him, this will be evident at the next scheduled game as they meet the Toronto Argonauts. Jeremy O’Day has been the Riders gm for quite a number of years and he still hasn’t personally scouted nor found a long term qb that would give that team a reason for optimism to win a coveted Grey Cup Championship. If 2024 is a bust for Saskatchewan it’s high time that organization’s executives take a clear look at cleaning their house once and for all.
Oh boo-hoo You’ve only had to wait for a measly 10 years since 2013 . Try being a Cats fan and give me a call when you’re on your 25 year anniversary without a championship .
They should trade for Dolegala at least for this season, get rid of either Shea or that other guy whoever he is. But they probably won’t and it is not like I told you so. (Mod edit-personal)I do think this could be foreseen after they let Dolegala out the door, let Fine and and Pipkin go.
I think this is going to turn out to be another blunder on the part of Oday, and I admit I was in the Dolegala camp but honestly where do they go from here. They have to get a veteran back in here to help finish out the season. Whom that is whether its Dolegala or some one else well they have to do something if they want to salvage this season but to do nothing is absurd.
