Riders all talk and no action this offseason

68% kicking avg. Lets hope he can improve on that. I'm sure he will get a lot more training and teaching in the pros then in CIS though. Good to see McCullough and Hughes back. didn't expect them to go anywhere though. Would be nice to see a reciever come down the pipes

I would also like to see a starting quarterback, in addition to Billy's receivers.

I know that Danny & Roy said everything was fine, no changes needed, but...........

........ even though football is a team sport, and you don't have to have outstanding individual players, I note that a lot of the other teams think it is helpful to have a starting quarterback and some decent receivers.

I think it couldn't hurt to try this system ??

haha. I agree. I would also like to have a new starting QB. Unfortunately I don't see any available. It would be nice if they even brought in any QB that could maybe learn the CFL and maybe be able to back up and later start.

Saskatchewan fans answer this please....

Greene has had enough time to prove himself, and all he's proven is that he's just not up to the job. Crandell does not appear to be the answer...not bad, just not great...a capable backup.

If you guys don't get a bona fide #1 QB, anyone think Butler would or should be given a legitimate shot to take over this year?

If not, Ted White is still available I do believe............

Butler's been a 3rd string quarterback for quite a while. If he was worth being played, I think he'd have been played consistently to this point. The fact that he hasn't screams that he needs to be let go. If I were him I'd be sick and tired of being bench decoration.

Ya he is defienty no Warren Jones or Kevin Mason, thats for sure.

Greene should be let go. straight up. I think that would make rider fans happier than if they picked up Joseph.

Butler should be given a chance, or he should be let go. If he gets a chance and fills his diaper, then he should be let go. If he is alright, then ride him like overworked mule till he sucks, and switch to a Crandell who wants his job back, untill he loses, and then switch. Have a sharp hook that is fast.

The Riders could also make a trade for somebody..
Bucky in BC could be had...the cost would be high...
Matt D and crandell.. your first round Canadian draft picks for two years..
If you added a roll of Binder twine..the deal will be sealed..

Dominguez, Crandell, 2 first round draft picks and a roll of Binder twine for Buck Pierce. Hank you must be on some really good drugs. But hey what the hell. Propose it to the Riders front orfice. They just might go for it.

..........twine is pretty useful, you might want to keep that in reserve.....

nasty article but how much do you wanna bet ol roy pulls a rabbit out of the hat....

I'd rather him pull a qb out of a hat. We have no use for rabbits here, their fast and can get open but they have problems grasping the ball, kind of like French.

Zing...

Hey wern't the Rabbits at McMahon.......Seems to me I remember a TSN broadcast where a jack rabbitt appeared in Calgary....R&W..do you recall, or am I really getting old and losing my marbles.

…twice in fact last year a white rabbit was running around the field during the national anthem…

there were 2 that got on tv...there may have been more at games off-air.

a rabbit in winnipeg, and a squirrel in hamilton....

the rabbit was in Regina at Taylor Field. At least I think it was.

Yah there was a rabbit at taylor field.

On another note there was an article in the Leader Post today about Pikula. In 2004 he went 13-19 on field goals for a 68.4%. He said that would have been better but they had a lot of problems with blocked field goals earlier in the year. The longest field goal he kicked was 45 yards but he could kick up to 60 yarders in practice.
