I also hope Murray will say it ain't so. And that he'll soon tweet something along the lines of "Just kidding! You didn't really think I'd join THAT team, did you?"

When you look at this team's roster as it is right now, who would be the starting SAM linebacker? I don't think I'd like the answer to that question, and that's the reason I considered keeping Murray here one of this team's main priorities at this point.

Well, maybe we'll hear about Raymond re-signing here.

This, pretty much confirms that Rico is on on the gangway:

Man, I hate it when these guys go blue! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

"it’s clear Stubler has had his fingerprints on the signings, the latest being ex-Ticat DB/LB Rico Murray, whose deal should be made public within days."

Right now, I would think Craig Butler could fit that role quite well. Of course, Stephen would have to slide back to Safety, and we'd need another CB for his position...

Daly has proven himself more than capable at Safety, Leave Stephen at CB, Butler at SAM, Shortill as backup.
This would work wonders with our ratio

Murray is a good player, but hurt way too much lately. Best of luck to him in Toronto. I predict he will spend half the season on IR.

With Sears spending the other half of the season on IR. Oh well , best of luck indeed boys , hope you enjoy playing in front of strictly family and friends this season. There are some pluses though in going down the road , like enjoying 3 extra weeks off added to your off-season........unfortunately that is without pay of course. Also another plus is that you won't have anybody bugging you for any extra playoff tickets this season. :stuck_out_tongue: Oh and just remember one more thing boys and that is this.........Toronto is where former Cats go to die !!!!! :rockin: :rockin: :stuck_out_tongue:

The Argos are taking a lot of “cast offs” that were injury prone. Murray, Sears and Paden from Ottawa.
Paden spent most of 015 & 016 on the injured list and when he did come back after replacing Chris Williams he had fumble-itis and couldn’t make the big catches.
It will be a miracle if the Argos don’t finish last this year.

Really disappointed to see Rico go. Hard working guy who always had time for the fans. Solid, consistent play. Hurt for part of last year but pretty reliable up til then… not like Sears. Best of luck in Toronto Rico. You will be missed here.

Just another signing to add to the fire and rivalry between these two teams in the CFL!!

GO CATS GO!!

And it’s Official , Rico Murray has become a big fat Zero by signing with the Zero-Nots !!! :thdn:  Hope you have fun playing in front of ZERO fans this season Rico. :cowboy:

I could be wrong but I think Murray has had injury problems for the past couple of seasons. I too am sorry to see him go but I can't blame the management for not re-signing players who've spent as much or more time on the IR as they have on the field. Salaries may not count against the cap while they're on the 6 game but they still have to be paid. It seems that the team has paid out quite a large sum the past couple of seasons to players who could play because of injury. Fingers crossed that the injury bug find another team to hit this season instead of our poor beleaguered Ticats!
