Restructure Divisions for Crossover

I've read some of the past write-ups on this topic in regards to how a crossover team with more points than the 2nd place team should host the semi-final game. A lot of people responded by making this possible by getting rid of the East-West Divisions and replacing it with one Division (ie: 1 vs 6, 2 vs 5, 3 vs 4).
Wouldn't it be simpler (and much better in my opinion) just to rename the Divisions? Call one the National Division and the other the Canadian Division or something along those lines. Than you call have the crossover team from the Canadian Division host the 2nd place team (if they had fewer points) from the National Division and no one could complain! The East-West were renamed before because of the US Teams, so why not again for the crossover reasons! Learn from the NFL people, they call their divisions NFC and AFC, not East/West. Anyone with any thoughts?

A rose by any other name.....

In the NFL, they are conferences not divisions

Leave it alone I dislike change in the CFL. Look what changes have done to the NHL. It is a glorified ice capades.
