Joe began his football career playing for the University of Maryland, followed by coaching at Texas Tech, West Texas State, and the USAF Academy. He spent four years as DC for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Joe then came to Canada where he served as a DC with Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa , Saskatchewan; HC with Toronto and Ottawa; HC with the Ottawa GeeGees, and finished his career in the Arena League and scouting for the Tiger-Cats.
A true veteran of Canadian football.
Joe also served his nation as an officer in the United States Air Force.
