This seems like a no-brainer. There is no effective offensive line for Rourke. Or VA. You can’t win in any league with an ineffective O-line. Maksymic, once so promising a play caller, has been predictable, so predictable teams seem to anticipate a run up the middle on first down, followed by a pass in a pattern defensive backs already seem to be prepared for. This is especially worrisome that after the last bye week, the Lions had no new plays, no energy, no imagination in the play calling. Fingers crossed for next game after the bye week. Will the team look as ineffective as the last time? Then there’s Campbell’s puzzling actions - throwing a challenge flag in the opening minutes last game that was marginal at best. Replacing Rourke when he seemed to be just getting going last game. Something is amiss at Lions headquarters. Something that Doman is going to have to address. There is far too much talent on this team for them to lose so many games lately so soundly.

Agree about the challenge flag. I like something a commentator said a few games back, about the flag being thrown when points are on the line, either for or against. It’s a good general guideline for the first half of the game (although if you’re sure the call is wrong, throw it).

I don’t know about the last game, but I think Campbell has a habit of going on offence when the Lions win the coin toss. I’m a fan of deferring the option until the second half.

Agree about Rourke. I actually commented that the QB-swap should have happened after the first quarter. But it’s odd to take Rourke out after he (finally) strings a few plays together for a TD.

Seems This will be a distraction for the Lions better trade one of them to Calgary immediately lol

If Rourke can’t get the Lions moving in the next two games it spells trouble for this year and next.

No.
It just means BC gets rid of Rourke and keeps that other guy

Don’t get me wrong, I like Rourke but this was Adams team to begin the year, he was in the mix for MOP, if not more. Rourke comes back and is given the starting job because Adams was hurt. Okay. Adams is fine now and should not loose his spot because of the injury. He should be the starter until he falters, then Rourke can come in. We all know Adams will be traded after the season and Rourke will be the starter going into next year. Just another bizarre decision coming out of BC.

If Roarke poops the bed it will be Adams team and Rourke gone

No chance. They will rebuild the team around Rourke before they trade him anywhere. VA is expendable to the Lions. Rourke is not. He is a marketing dream come true for the Lions club. VA started checking the MLS realtor listings in other cities as soon as Campbell made Rourke the Highest Paid Player in the CFL Universe. I agree with the strange behaviour comment made earlier though. Campbell is losing his grip…

BC need to sort out the offensive line in the off-season. They could have Mahomes in there, but he’s no good if he spends half of the time on the floor with an opposing DL on top of him.
