Report: Lions to acquire Vernon Adams Jr. from Als

Some people don't get sarcasm, even with emojis, as I have learnt. :sunglasses: BC's doing the right thing & why is it stupid to trade Adams & carry the big salary when you're not playing him?

The usual arrogance coming from Bomber fans & you wonder why I pick on them. With 7 games to play & having ONE less loss than the 2nd place club, the mighty Bombers are already playing meaningless games against their nearest competitor. Not a worthy opponent, eh? You're the one who keeps saying "don't count your chickens". You haven't won anything yet. Oh well, after 30 years in the wilderness maybe I should give you a pass. :sunglasses:

I agree. Worrisome choice. Seems like a hot-cold type QB. He's a great player in fundamentals but his mind seems to get in his way. I wouldn't be surprised if he needs to be pampered.

Vernon has a great attitude and has skills but is erratic as a passer and is best scrambling. I think Michael O'Connor is a better passer but the injury misses his chance.

VANCOUVER — The BC Lions have acquired American quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. from the Montreal Alouettes. In exchange, Montreal will receive the Lions’ first-round selection in the 2023 CFL Draft.

Just calling them as I sees them. It is true that I advocate not counting chickens, but I do start counting them once they begin to leave the safe confines of the hen house and present themselves. I am sure it is tough being a Calgary fan so far this year, especially as far as their competitiveness vis a vis the Bombers. I understand and you have my sympathies.

Who is Montreal's backup?

Be nice. Be humble.

I know it's hard not to be overly optimistic going into the second half of this season knowing that after our next win we lock up a playoff spot. It's no stretch that weeks before the season ends we'll probably lock up first place as well thanks to BC's misfortune.

My problem here is... 'Nothing Football' it's not exactly the kind of football I want to watch. Last year's final two or three games were 'meh' at best. Don't get me wrong here I really appreciate the team we have and the guys who put it together but all I can say is, be careful what you wish for.

Ok, I'm awake now. If O'Connor is going to the 6 game IR this is a good move I think. I wasn't a fan of Adams extremely short leash at the start of the year, I think they bailed on him too early. I would be ok with O'Connor/Pipkin going forward but if either one of those guys can't play Adams will be well appreciated.

Welcome to the den Vernon. I hope it works out for you. From a positive point on the Lions side I’ve seen him look really good and it sounds like a good trade. On the negative side he sure had his detractors from Montreal and you have to wonder why? All I can really say is Good Luck Vernon.

If questions like this plague you you should learn to check the player rosters on this site.

Yeah that’s all I’m saying. It looked like more of a race to the wire with BC before they suffered their QB injuries. I don’t like meaningless games either. I just don’t like being called names and once in a while I respond.

Have stated multiple times I'm not a Stamp fan which no doubt passes attention because it's not Bomber news. But no need to repeat yourself, I was ignoring you the 1st time. I will now fade back to black. :sunglasses:

Dominique Davis and newcomer Davis Alexander (his status is hilarious).

One post by a Bomber fan does not represent all Bomber fans. Posters on here really need learn that a post is that person's opinion onky not the whole fans bases'. Don't remember getting a call from Jon asking my thoughts.
BTW, our journey in the wilderness ended three years ago. Now we are on back to backs with a health shot of at a three-peat. How is your team's jouney in the wilderness going?:rofl::rofl:

I'm glad for Vernon but I have to ask myself "How stupid is Maciocia? He trades a young gun, with years ahead of him, and keeps a guy who is on his last legs. (Sorry Trevor but your Best Before Date has passed or if not, is really close.)

Obviously not......
And no need to get your knickers all bunched. Anyone with a level head knows WPG would be heavily favoured to finish 1st ATM.
Ofcourse anything can still happen.

VA has always had the potential to be a star in this league so for BC it's a great deal. As for Montreal, they're obviously going with Trevor Harris and barring an injury, Adams was making way too much money to be a backup.

That great attitude translates into leader... very similar to what Nathan brought to the table.
